I wouldn't consider Avatar "highly rated", it got pretty average reviews aside from its technical effects, no?
I guess Titanic is the obvious choice here... but I can't really think of any others. I could never get into Lord of the Rings but I was 11 at the time  I'm trying to think of recent Oscar-bait movies that I dislike... OH I really didn't like the Grand Budapest Hotel. Find Wes Anderson's style so affected and tiring and don't have the time to sit and admire how QUAINT and DAINTY every little damn detail is. Write a plot babe. |
Titanic is fairly good. Not one I'd over champion, but it is decent.

i thought avatar was pretentious drivel, and back to the future makes me cringe

Sorry Alf .. we seem to be on the same page 99% of the time but the Back to Future movies leave me cold I tend to go for historical or true stories, gangster movies tend to be based on real incidents/ people of course .. Then again I love the Deadpool movies plus all the CGI animations..Toy Story and the like Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Not a fan of anything superhero related, Avengers, Guardians of the galaxy, Batman, Suicide squad etc.. they're SO boring and the CGI is always shocking
idk how these films always break records at the cinema |
Any Star Wars movie, can’t stand them
|
The Greatest Showman is another one.. awful awful film
|
Parasite that won best picture oscar is pretty bad
|
I don't like the Bond movies,i have never watched one all the way through,Skyfall is the only one I watched a little.

Chicago.
Other than Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellweger being occasionally sexy in it, it's empty. |

Taxi Driver

The Indiana Jones films

I remembering watching Crash when everyone was raving about it and it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen and they handle the issues of racism with the subtlety of a sledgehammer. Won the Best Picture Oscar and everything. Dire.

Titanic - The whole thing doesnt make sense.
The Piano - The most overrated film I've ever seen. Holly Hunters performance is good but Anna Paquins accent is all over the place, what with the marks on Harvey Keitels face. I just dont get what the critics were going crazy about. |
Oh, the Hangover films and Ted, absolute DRIVEL

Tibbs favourite film. |
See above. Maybe I should change my post and say Titanic has a major plot hole.

Inception and Interstellar. My two least favourite Nolan films.

She was telling her story of the disaster to the other characters, but we the viewers were just shown the full unfolding of the disaster. Having said that, I don't think there was much in there she couldn't have been told about. Such as Jack telling her his own story of how he got on the ship etc. |
Its a James Cameron film so the tightness of the script was never going to be a priority. For all the awards it won it is probably the worse film to have won Best Picture. It was no surprise it was not even nominated for best script.
