...it’s obviously something that you have great determination to do, Capri...and you seem a pretty focused person, so I’m sure that you’ll succeed...good luck you......(..you won’t need it, you’ll be great and alcohol free...)...

DrunkerThanMoses 12-03-2020 04:57 AM

I quit smoking and have not had one for 8 days so far. Pressure is there to have one but I am determined; also helps one of my friends has given up as well so not alone in trying

Good luck caprimemt, I’ll drink double for you tomorrow night

Let's see if you can stick to it :fan: And maybe you already REALLY enjoy drinking but tbh if you can limit yourself to like once a week, twice a month, or something like that I think you'd enjoy it even more. A nice day/night of drinking should feel kinda like a reward imo :dazzler:

This is actually soooo true. Now you’ve said that I’ve thought about it and you’re right... I used to enjoy the times when I drank way more when it was less often because it was something exciting/different. :clap1: Ultimately I guess I just want it to be casually though or whenever there’s an event etc

Good luck with your smoking as well, you’ve so got this :clap1:

One of my friends was smoking like a pack a day or something and he cut down to like 3 a day then 1 a day I think and he was doing really well at it.

And  You’re welcome to it!!!

Kazanne 12-03-2020 06:37 AM

Good for you Capri for at least cutting down,it takes some willpower to cut down on things you like,so well done x

It’s weird... for me it was the opposite. I used to get horrible hangovers quite a few years back when I was like 18-21 or something but then it just stopped. :omgno:

...so basically your blood is like a vaccine for hangovers ...if we inject a bit into everyone before their drinking session, their hangover will be erased...

Dogeatdog 12-03-2020 08:31 AM

Sucks that I’m no longer gonna have a drinking partner but good luck with this Stacey. It’s good that your trying to make better lifestyle choices and I think you’ll begin to feel a lot better for it.

This is what I do pretty much. I've been drunk at most 4 times a year for about 9 years now... just things like weddings/stag nights.

That said, I think the last time I had alcohol was nearly 18 months ago and I didn't bother at the last wedding I was at :joker:.

Honestly though, people assume if you say you don't drink that you must "be sober" because you "had a problem". No I just got bored of it! Overdid it when I was at Uni (and to be fair... latterly at school) and the appeal has just completely vanished now. Really for the last year od Uni it was "going through the motions" anyway... was still going out drinking heavily but it wasn't all that fun and the hangovers were rough. Pointless.

Yeah I think that even makes it a bit more enjoyable. I used to LOVE drinking at events or if I went out with friends etc, but now it's just... normal?

And that's so true as well... last time when I quit for 9 months people always asked why and assumed it was because there was an underlying reason for choosing to quit but I just didn't want to drink every weekend

No because I wouldn't buy it myself, but I'll smoke it whenever I get the chance if somebody offers it to me :pipe:

Yeah it becomes sooo much easier after a month or so. I remember last time I didn't even think about it at all even when I was in a pub and everyone around me was drinking

To be fair that's part of it I struggle with; I can't stand drunk people when I'm sober. They talk a stream of absolute **** and when you're drunk too it all seems really profound, but when you're sober it just sounds like... Drunk people rambling about nothing...

Crimson Dynamo 12-03-2020 09:22 PM

But conversely the drunk is happy, so Ying and yang

Marsh. 12-03-2020 09:48 PM

Isn't it 21 days to break a habit? Or make one idk.

Josy 12-03-2020 09:51 PM

Good luck

I haven't drank for a while now, not since round about Christmas when we thought it would be fun to drink a full bottle of bison grass vodka :/

Never experienced a hangover like it in my life

DrunkerThanMoses 12-03-2020 09:54 PM

I failed I had half a cigarette tonight :(

Marsh. 12-03-2020 09:55 PM

Yeah that is true tbf, it depends how drunk they are though. Like sometimes I find it amusing/funny but sometimes I'm just like... get me OUT OF HERE right now :fist:
