the bit i saw was pretty chronic, and it seemed they did a little speech and then cut to a pre-recorded segment of them doing a song.

Smithy 19-04-2020 11:42 AM

Saph 19-04-2020 11:43 AM

Nicky91 19-04-2020 04:53 PM

and for your interest, we dutch did do a ''charity thing'' this week, with our radio channel 3FM Serious Request for Corona, and they had gotten over 307k from dutch people which is quite decent, all of that money will go to foodbanks, medical equipment here :)

so yes we did do our share of a charity event

and we also shared few bits of One World on the news too at the 12:00 news here

Smithy 19-04-2020 06:15 PM

What did he say originally?

Denver 19-04-2020 09:14 PM

I cant say I really like it (I guess the best performances were left out)

But loved the Bill Withers tribute and Lizzos cover

Morgan. 19-04-2020 09:27 PM

Did this really need a studio and three presenters :skull:

elton john hmmm his vocals might be bit hit and miss but i do admire all of his efforts at his age to still give his all, and also great piano skills too :flutter:

Celine  oh god that look totally does not suit her

We fastforwarded to the performances as that’s what we were originally watching for! You see enough of the true stories and clips on the news and social media, I was watching this for it to be a distraction and not a reminder.

Marsh. 20-04-2020 01:43 PM

The Little Mix one made me laugh.

3 of them just singing in front of their living room curtains, or sat on the floor by the bedroom door and then one of them done up like a dog's dinner perching herself in front of her dressing room mirror with the Little Mix awards on the wall. :joker: Sad cow.

Yes, you want a programme as a distraction from Covid-19 so switch on a fundraiser put together by WHO about that very topic. :joker:

I mean I see your point but at the end of the day there were more clips of the stories and messages we see elsewhere than there were the performances (which was the main drawing point for many). Of course there’s going to be references to the current situation but not 60% of the whole show.

Should've watched the original concert itself online then and not the programme the BBC made themselves of the original event. :hee:

if u thought that was dreadful by BBC, wait until you guys see eurovision: come together with a dreadfully long interview with james newman :skull:

while rest of europe has focus on entire class of esc2020, focus on eurofans themselves (some there in a skype group performance with johnny logan - whats another year) yes we will have clips of coronacrisis included but more done in a beautiful way (with some of most emotional past esc songs handpicked for those moments)

also we got 4 hosts from empty studio, so i kinda was thinking ok maybe shine a light could look similar like that with the bbc hosts in that empty studio

but then again now is not the time to complain or moan about those sort of things

Well I’d I’ve assumed the BBC would have shown more performances than it actually did. When they said ‘highlights from the event’ I was expecting 2 hours worth of clips with a few cutaways to the presenters sending links from home not a comic relief ripoff with 10 performances fff
