As I said before though it's not like they are doing a real housewives type show which will be inviting us to their lives which actually would make them hypocrites but a interview doesn't. Every celebrity wants privacy that's common knowledge because media are trash but they still do interviews about something bad or good and they do more TV interviews than Meghan and Harry. A very rare TV interview coming from the couple :laugh:

I'll be honest, I didn't watch the interview you're talking about, and I probably wont watch this Oprah thing either, barring a few clips that get posted in one of the 364523654326457645276454762576 Meghan threads. If for no other reason than fairness though, shouldn't people want to hear what they have to say when they're already so invested in filling in the blanks for how they live their lives?

I've seen accomplished people from all walks of life give bad interviews, so judging them by that seems a bit shallow.

I agree with this. Like, the constant 'its her, trying to separate him from his family!' stuff kind of rests on the assumption he is a meek little pussycat, doing everything this evil woman tells him to and pretending he agrees.

There are plenty Royals who manage to live pretty private lives and no one bothers with them because they don't keep popping up preaching what you should do and don't do, if Harry and Megs had done the same, they could disappear as well :shrug:

...but you weren’t familiar with her pregnancy pic and that it’s something that people can commonly do now, have that type of more personal pose...and you maybe thought that be an ‘extremely theatrical Meghan, type thing’ if you hadn’t seen anything similar before...but it’s actually just a commonplace thing that would probably not been thought anything of, had it not been Meghan and Harry and how they announced it...

They could easily, they were in Canada for six weeks and the press didn't touch them and no one was any the wiser, this was before it all blew up and they said they were leaving

Yes that was before the media jumped on the bandwagon to bully them and now it's really impossible for them to have the privacy they want. It's not really that hard to understand tbh.

Not sure its a good move as when Michael Jackson did his interview with Oprah ,people still believed all the gossip about him ,it didn't matter what HE said I think it just depends on the person on whether you like them or not to start with .Personally ,I don't really care what they do, but have to admit i find it strange they want to do this.:wavey:

I wasn't calling you shallow, and I definitely had no intention of calling you a racist. I was saying that judging them (or me, or you, or anyone) on the basis of one interview is shallow, and I think that would be a pretty hard thing to argue against.


So to recap, the reasons you don't like them are

Bad interview
Instagram announcement
Showed concern for the environment but still fly themselves
Moved during lockdown
Myriad of unspecified other hypocritical acts
Other royals

I'm not trying to change your mind on them, you're an adult with enough upstairs to make your own decisions. I didn't reply to you, you decided to reply to me by inferring all these things about the intent of my post, when all I really said was if the forum is that invested in these 2, shouldn't the chance to see them in their own words be more useful than pretending some on here have an inside track to their innermost thoughts and desires (again, not you, but generally).

I'm just baffled if I'm honest, and my view is that most of the people arguing in these threads aren't arguing over evidence or facts, it's just become a way for a watered down tibb (compared to the old days), where people that don't really like each other have an excuse and a platform for an argument. Just talking in general terms here, and not about you or any other individual. I don't think they were always like this, i think that's just how the debate (I use that word extremely lightly) has evolved.

These threads are weird entertainment to me.

Personally, I think they're judged really harshly, and there are some definite racial undertones to the campaign against them. Not necessarily on here, but in the media, where most of the opinions on them are derived from, and the Meghan/Kate comparisons in the daily mail make this so blatantly obvious, that I'd actually like to see someone argue against that fact.

Believe me I am not basing it on the pregnancy picture. Its the way she presents herself in interviews and these podcasts and the Documentry...I read the full context of her fathers letter...the way she told the world about her miscarriage...everything she does comes across as something out of a Barbra Cartland novel...its theatrical and dramatic just like the photo :laugh:

He was also found not guilty, all I am saying is what you touched on, people will just believe what they want depending on who they like and don't like.

Still don't think it's a fair comparison, you're talking about on the one hand a guy who's accused of terrible crimes...actual crimes and the other a couple who have a bit of a family feud going on and are victims of a lot of tabloid gossip. And for what it's worth, I actually did like Michael Jackson when I was younger so I didn't just not believe him because I didn't like him, in fact by that logic I should have believed him. I didn't believe him because he surrounded himself with little boys and had them sleep over, encouraged their parents to leave them there alone with him etc. I don't give a **** what a court says, that's about as suspicious as it gets.
