Not Long to go now

ThomasC 14-07-2022 09:03 AM

No one has still turned up so will try again at 11 and if no luck then I will email him.

These things happen

arista 14-07-2022 09:06 AM

11AM

But no more extensions
after that

ThomasC 14-07-2022 09:39 AM

I think it is 11am as I just received a notification on my phone when I accepted the invite. Wording in email is wrong

ThomasC 14-07-2022 11:02 AM

Got the job, they even said they'd help me with finding accommodation.

Actually a bit excited now and it has really reassured me.

I recorded the interview so I can show my parents.

Serious face;

Thomas sold for illegal organ transplantation, I’ve called it first.

ThomasC 14-07-2022 11:05 AM

He didn't even ask me about the treaty of waitangi or the Maori model of health but I got them in there anyway. Ha.

Niamh. 14-07-2022 11:06 AM

Well done Thomas

Well done…you must have impressed them offering you the job on the same day…don’t want to sound negative but it all sounds a bit quick

You look like an extra that got fired from the walking dead film for looking to decrepit.

Mystic Mock 15-07-2022 02:07 PM

Congratulations.

Cherie 15-07-2022 04:08 PM

Are you and your serious face going to take the job?

Oliver_W 15-07-2022 04:18 PM

Congrats!

As others have said, it does seem a bit quick. I'd really look into the company. They either have a ridiculously high turnover rate so just hire people so they always have replacements, or there's something dodgy going on.

No , but the interviewer was. He's worked in the UK too though even did forensics at one point. He bored me to death though, he talked about himself a lot

Do you know what it means?

It's very important in my industry rather than just a social, medical or biological model

Not really. I do have this effect in interviews. Again, I don't mean to sound big headed but I do come across really well

It's not like I'm starting tomorrow. I haven't even booked a flight but he interviewed me and is happy to proceed.

He said he would normally do the interview with someone else and they'd write the notes. He'd normally consult with them but based on my CV/experience he's happy to offer it me. He is actually the service delivery manager so he knows what he's looking for and decision comes down to him I'd imagine

Welcome to care tbh, high turn over is just an unfortunate part of the system normally.

There one of the leading health providers in New Zealand so I would highly doubt it's dodgy.

God so much negativity around here.

What is it exactly that is too good to be true?

You apply for a job, they short list you based on your CV, they interview you over teams (quite normal considering its in new Zealand)... You impress them so they are happy for you to work for them :conf: the interview was nearly an hour long too

AnnieK 15-07-2022 07:20 PM

I assume the offer will be subject to references and being able to obtain a visa.....so sure all will be fine.

When I went to work in the US in the 90s, I had a telephone interview, was offered on the spot and then was on a plane 3 weeks later. And that was all fine.

Congrats...hope it works out. Have always wanted to go to NZ

Yeah I already have my visa.

If you have the skills they want and the appropriate visa then it's fine.

New Zealand are absolutely crying out for staff.

Yeah it can be a quick process, it's checks that take the longest, police and references.....short term anyhow.

Long term it can be a very long process having to get all your qualifications changes over, AHPRA I think they call it, medicals, English exams etc

And thank you
