However he hasn't yet put a manifesto of policies to the Nation under his leadership, which he has changed once in government..
As this lot have.

If he does win and goes back on his presented manifesto pledges..
Then fair criticism would be in order to add to all the other criticism I have of him.
However policy is still being formed and I know of NO leader taking over from another in the main 2 Parties who kept all their predecessors policies

Joey, you've seen it all. I know you have. I understand people are clinging to this "let's wait till he's in office then we'll hold his feet to the fire." approach, but it's too late then. Labour is going to cruise to victory, but they have no ambition to do anything, and have already tied themselves to a growth model that brought us 13 years of austerity and trickle down.

I read yesterday that electric cars are 60% more expensive to insure

No one can afford heat pumps and alot of older homes do not have the insulation to make them effective

They want to phase out oil fired central heating in rural areas and replace with useless heatpumps

They also want to get rid of wood burning stoves.... super

I dont know why the UK needs to lead the world on this, let someone else lead on it

It’s crazy that we are going all out on this when we are a minuscule of the problem

Plus electric car owners are saying that the published figures on the stats are all exaggerated..

Sunak was Clever
waiting until the last day of Parliament
and by making it 4:30PM

Parliament would not have time to debate any of his plans

They are not back until Monday 16th of October

Conference recess 19 Sept 2023 - 16 Oct 2023

joeysteele 21-09-2023 12:16 PM

It's not really a drastic alteration to the plans anyhow.
It just adds to the possible belief here and abroad that the last batch of Con PMs and government cannot be trusted as to their word.

That however doesn't surprise me.

bots 21-09-2023 12:36 PM

all the car manufacturers can do one. The rest of the world isn't banning petrol cars until 2035, so they are spinning a tale when they say it badly affects them.

The world is a connected economy. All major economies should do the transitions at the same time

BBC News Text :
[Campaigners are likely to bring legal
challenges to try to block changes
to the UK's net zero strategy,
according to the Guardian.
It comes after Mr Sunak announced delays and extensions
to a number of climate-related targets that
critics say will make it harder for the
government to meet a legally-binding commitment
to eliminate the UK's contribution to the
level of greenhouse gases in
the atmosphere by 2050.
The paper says that a number of campaign groups,
including Friends of the Earth
and the Good Law Project, are exploring legal action.]

I doubt this will get the full response he hoped.
It's not a drastic change.
He hasn't presented it with full integrity and facts.

I don't honestly see where Labour particularly need to do more than criticise his small alterations as to dates.
Change them back if they wish to but I'd just go with the changes anyhow.
Not make a great meal of it.

The ultimate target remains, so it may really end up a non event in the end from him and his hopeless advisers .

bots 22-09-2023 01:15 PM

it's all designed to create a conflict point between tory and labour, and labour are falling for it

Yes Starmer should back the 2035 date
as many can not afford heat pumps.

And Starmer is setting up a New UK Energy Company
we can all join and save cash

That's actually what I said in effect
That Labour should just go with the changes.

They're not worth making much of a fuss about in my view.

arista 22-09-2023 02:37 PM

I'd already bought my 750 bins that was made up, and I was more than ready to pay my meat tax that also was never going to exist. I too like to make things up, then ban them.

bots 22-09-2023 02:51 PM

All Sunak did was say that some of the rumours weren't going to happen. Thing is, if you are going to do that, if you don't name them all, then that implies that some rumours are going to happen. For example he didn't deny the charge per car mile was going to happen

The Slim Reaper 22-09-2023 02:57 PM

If you're living in fantasy world, you can deny or ignore whatever you want. It's desperate stuff. He needs to just call an election, so the red Tories can continue on his party's great work.

Go and swim in his money like scrooge McDuck, because it's all over for them.
