Had to be up early today as was going out but yesterday when I wanted a sleep in, a Sunday of a bank Holiday the neighbours at the back were taking down scaffolding so loudly throwing pipes etc on the floor! At 8 o clock in the morning!

It’s so inconsiderate of people…

The thing is, people complain when gardens are overgrown and when stuff like scaffolding is up etc.. You can't please everyone.

No one is complaining about gardening being done or having scaffolding up/down…the debate is about when is the right time to do it.

Yes they should be more considerate. And it's bank holiday as well.

Husband called company owner and he thinks its all lawful...my husband said it wasnt and it reflects badly on his business. Company said 3 other neighbours had complained and one woman on opposite corner even came out in her night dress swearing her head off at them...she then went on town facebook page and complained before it was taken down...
We have taken videos and footage...I mean its still going on as we speak since 08:40 this morning..:fist:

Oh come on this is a bit ridiculous. If it was constant and incessant then yes but for one day it’s hardly a big deal. Just because you’re off doesn’t mean other people have to be.

Also I just googled as I was curious and although it is ‘prohibited’ to carry out noisy work on Sundays or bank holidays it says there is no actual law against it?

Depends what you classify as noisy…

Nothing ridiculous at all about asking an inconsiderate arsehole to tidy his mess and to keep the noise down.. not everyone is a shivering weed when it comes to confrontation.

It did come across as extremely inconsiderate.
Even moreso with the results of the work in progress spilling over into rusti's area.

That doesn't happen with good professional working and it shouldn't do so either.

Hope your week goes better than yesterday rusti.

I don't care if its constant or incessant for a period of time..extensions etc take weeks...but do it Monday-friday and leave weekends and Bank holidays free for people to relax in their home and garden. That's why the rules have been made.

Livia 06-05-2025 11:46 AM

The law says you must not use power tools on bank holidays. What's so difficult to understand?
