Tomatoes and Cucumbers can easily be grown in pots and grow bags; I have grown a cherry tomatoe which grows in pots and doesnt need any stick for support, and it tastes yum. I'll try and find out what its caled and tell you tommorow. This year is my first year for Cucumbers, Kiz will know the best type!
Yeah basically you need to sow them NOW and no later, as time is vital. You can get a pack of seeds from mist supermarkets, or special Garden places now.
How to plant Tomatoes and Cucumbers;
Get a seed tray or pot, and fill with light (not lumpy) compost and water it.
Sow seeds thinly (Recomendations on packet) and cover over with Cling Film or clear polythene and put in a window.
When the shoots emerge take off the cling film, and keep watering gently (Dont drench them!)
When they have about two or three real leaves, move them in to small individual pots, carefully. DONT touch the stem, move by the leafs.
When they have grown fully, plant in final container.
Or... you could buy them from a Garden Centre for a few pounds and miss all but the final steps.
Peas you MAY be able to grow in a wide pot, not to sure, ask Kiz.
Carrots you can grow in pots! Look for a min variety.
(Peas and Carrots can be grown straight outside now)
