Well said:hello:
He's a fit bloke through hard work and healthy eating...good luck to him.
At least everything about him is real.
I haven't heard any worries about Dogfaces back problems that will come any day through her out of proportion implants.

To be honest, I think comparing Tom's education and intellect with Sophie and Karly is a little rich. He's obviously had a good education. What's more he's probably forgotten more about nurtrition and diet than most "experts" on this page will ever know.

setanta 19-07-2009 01:22 PM

i'm not an expert but i know that these guys don't do it for their health.... it's a vanity project for them, nothing more, nothing less. he's pumping himself full of stuff to achieve that kinda body and it'll harm him in the long run. it's a known fact.... bodybuilders even accept this- that their health will go bad later on in life. so no, he's not doing it just for his fitness and health..... that's fairly obvious

HellShark 19-07-2009 01:25 PM

****ing noodles in this topic.

King Gizzard 19-07-2009 01:36 PM

I can't believe people are making judgements on him already. Only an hour of HL and one night of live feed. jesus.

Thats is spot on mate.
He puts in the effort why should people hate on him for it.
Its very hard to get the same and shape he is.

That's the travesty in everyone 'having an opinion' and 'giving their point of view'.

Would you want 'opinions' for a maths problem? Well no, there's only one answer.

Same with life. We have the social context, so everything within that has a correct answer.

Opinions mean little, ultimately it's the correct answer that counts.

And from 1 hour of HLs and a bit of LF, the stuff spouted in this thread is BS. Nobody knows him, yet they are writing biographies on him.

LOL.

DiamondDogTags 19-07-2009 01:46 PM

I think Tom is okay, don't find him good looking though which is ashame girls win this year on the looks category. I'm sort of glad they put him in not really for him but to compete with Marcus for alpha male role..

go through all my comments and you will never see any form of jealousy or criticism of the guys personality. i was merely suggesting that his fitness regime is just a vanity project and his health will suffer the consequences later on in life.... a body like that can only last so long.

King Gizzard 19-07-2009 01:50 PM

I didnt mention names i meant some people.

And its not a usual vanity project for others, its for him to be happy with his body, most weightlifters will say its for themselves...

And yeh his body will be fine going on until his 60's possibly 70's

look, you know as well as i do that he's putting a severe amount of food as well as other stuff into himself to achieve that kinda body. that is going to have an impact on him later on in life: if he lasts as long as you say he'll be in the bits..... arthritis, heart condition... u name it. it's just overkill in my eyes

"It's definitely the latter for 27-year-old Tom, who loves his 'posh boy' status and reckons that women lap up his upper crust tones. However, guys tend to take the mickey out of him and he is often aggrieved by people labelling him as arrogant.

Tim has had to deal with some heartache in his life, as his dream of playing professional rugby was cruelly curtailed by a severe back injury at university. Currently single, he still idealises an ex girlfriend who broke his heart three years ago and is a bit bemused that older women often take a shine to him."

the ^^above from his channel 4 profile - they called him Tim and Tom - is that because he is a bi-sexual?

Every athlete is Obsessional about his disiplin, that's what makes him competive.

BodyBuilding is not essencially about vanity, any more than training for the 100 metre sprint is. Sure you will get some Vein people doing it, to look good in an attempt to have people gaze at them in ore and for the girlies to go all gooey eyed at them, and Tom may well be one of these people. However do not lump all BBuilders into the same box.

BBuilders do it because they love to see the improvement and developement of individual muscles. the feeling of satisfaction is no different than running the 100 mtres .01 of a second faster than a week ago. They are athletes, and no more about the human skeletal. and muscular system than your average doctor. They study books, work damn hard in the gym. The pay off for them is not the same as winning an olympic gold, but something far less vein than that, personal improvement in their chosen disaplin.

setanta 19-07-2009 02:50 PM

i never doubted for one second that bodybuilding can be of benefit to people; i just believe that this guy has gone to too extreme a level. that comes across as vanity and obsessional becuz he is not an athlete- not competing for any prize. and i don't think it's a healthy enterprise to undertake and will end up hurting him in the long run.

Athlete
a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical agility, stamina, or strength; a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill.

Care of Dictionary.com

He is an athlete by that definition, if you want to suggest athlete's only compete for prizes then i would suggest your definition of Athlete i.e what Tom is not, is a far more vainer definition.

To compete for prizes i.e recognision is vanity, socially acceptable vanity, but vanity all the same.

How can you say that Tom has gone to an "extreme level"?

He's obviously not an actual bodybuilder who competes, he is just in good shape.

Now this is "Extreme"

http://www.bodybuildingreviews.net/f...rjackson32.jpg

I dont know how you've got it into your head than weight training and being musclar makes you have heart problems and other problems when your older? That just quite simply isn't true. Steroid Abuse can possibly give your heart problems when your older, but thats just with people who are using stupid amounts of the stuff for years and years.

You need to get down the gym and do some squats.

This county needs to be worrying about the amount of fat lazy people we have and the health problems they will have and not worrying about health problems for the people who actually take a bit of pride in their body.

Stop on Ras.

People care more about Tom who isnt huge as it goes, we have much bigger people in my gym although most less defined.

There are so many obease and mobidly obease people who have much more health risks than people who weight train.

i'm guessing male cos he sounds a bit jealous.

PaulyJ 19-07-2009 03:27 PM

I'm actually on a bit of a health kick myself at the moment.

Have started going to the gym a few times a week, and improved my diet to include, carb's and Protein in measured amounts, since hitting my 30's i seem to have aquired a bit of a belly and don't like the look of it.

Vanity Yes
Cause for criticism No.

Exactly, being healthy and seeing your body improving is a great feeling. Thers is no better feeling than walking out of the gym after a hard ass session and knowing you've pushed yourself.
