since this actually was of benefit to the game I'll repost, with any potential snipes at delicate little flowers removed...
Morrissey As you were given one of the most restrictive forums to work with I think you did well to create an original thread. The only problem with it I would have said was that it required everyone to take a longer time to think of their selected judges (and reasons) and maybe it didn't have a lot of reply/conversation value. Vanessa I remember you performed strongly in many tasks back in 2012 and this doesn't look set to change: I think starting a "recommendations" thread was inspired (again with a tricky, quiet subforum), and that shows given the stronger number of replies. Even if quite a lot of them were from yourself  I would've placed you in the higher end of performers for this task anyway. JackF (Are you JRMJ now?) I wasn't impressed at all, really, and thought the replies you did get were generous. I appreciate the blogs section is a heck of a lot quieter but that shouldn't have held you back from writing something interesting. Given Tom's just now posted a thread and it was actually specific and gauged responses, I would have selected you as the weakest candidate. Jake. You did well, I'd have placed you second (if only because most of the other threads were a bit boring ). It was a nice personal touch, and was a good read. Pothuthic Another of the better performers in this task, my only complaint is that the thread was sort-of vague and asked too many questions without you trying to steer the conversation. Still, it was one of the threads that interested me so well done. Jordan. Yours may have generated a fair few replies but honestly, given the music section and your usual threads there, I was disappointed. I thought the thread idea was too similar to many existing threads (the ones sooty/Ben/ithinkiloveyoutoo are always posting in) and wasn't very interesting. Black Dagger I suppose you managed something of a coup in that you got all of the usual TiBB eccentrics going in it, but I was a little put off by your OTT-ness in it  It felt a bit forced. Still, not bad. InOne It will probably make for some interesting discussion but when I started writing these judgments it hadn't been posted yet  That very nearly put you at risk, if I were firing. Drew. You chose a very niche thread which I thought was quite a risk, and luckily it paid off. Dogs don't generally interest me but it was a fine thread nonetheless. DrunkerThanMoses I didn't even clock that this was part of the task :joker: it felt natural, and was a good question that I don't recall seeing on the forum before. Well done. Lewis. Like Natalie's, this thread required a fair amount of effort from the posters but it definitely paid off. In my opinion, this was by far the most interesting task entry and called upon all the ideal thread characteristics: nostalgia, conflict of opinion, plenty of humour and some mess called AnnieK. Loukas I don't know, it felt too vague. It was a little too similar to threads made by Kerry that have been going for some time now and I think you tried to emphasise the "random" part of the thread but that's not really a strong talking point. Tom! It's a shame, I think you could have done well with the thread you've just posted. |
Thanks for the feedback Shaun :)

Team Enterprise : Presentation Hello, Team Enterprise are pleased to introduce to you our new idea – OnTheBus http://i62.tinypic.com/fxvsxf.jpg Our idea is an entertainment venue on wheels. Our bus will travel throughout London and park in a pre-allocated car park. That night, unsigned singers and comedians from that area are given the opportunity to come up onto the stage and perform for our 60 person capacity. This gives young and upcoming artists the valuable chance to perform to a crowd and get noticed. When on the bus you have to buy a ticket, meaning you then can precede through to the bar area which is situated on the ground floor. Here, you can buy some of the finest alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, or just have a sit down and socialise on the sofas that we have set up for your comfort. You can then make your way upstairs onto the second deck of our open top bus, ready for the gig! But don't worry, if the weather isn't good we have a canopy to allow you to continue to have a good time! The tickets for the gigs will be sold online, sending people an e ticket that they can show at the door as a printed copy or on their mobiles. We will also set up a website to sell tickets on, which potential performers can link their fans to. We will also host themed evenings to encourage a wider variety of performers. These events will include things such as: battle of the bands, talent nights and specific stand up nights for potential comedians. There will also be acoustic nights, cover nights and certain genre only nights. We believe that the idea of a mobile venue that travels throughout London is a very unique idea and would really give unsigned performers the opportunity to showcase their work to an audience. During the show we will erect an interactive screen behind the stage which will display tweets that attendees can send in using the hashtag #OnTheBus on either Twitter or Facebook. Our food and drink will be served by our resident staff, who are trained to give you the best experience. From them, you can order cocktails, alcoholic beverages, such as beer, wine and champagne and other alcopops and soft drinks such as Sprite, Fanta, Coca Cola and J20. Food will include popcorn and sweets. We will be inviting only unsigned artists to perform, rather than established artists, as we want to promote the best of the upcoming talent that might not already have the attention of the record labels, giving them the experience of performing live in front of a crowd. We aim to cater for the 16 - 30 age range as we feel that this demographic are more likely to enjoy new talent and be willing to share the new artists to all of their friends on social media. We have done our research, which suggests that this idea is completely unique, offering us a good USP that will hopefully stir up interest. We have chosen London to start our business off at as we feel that London's current talent would jump at the chance to be able to showcase their talent to a crowd, giving us a wider talent pool to showcase. Here are a few of our ideas for bus layouts: Downstairs: http://i59.tinypic.com/2ih8ehe.png Upstairs: http://i58.tinypic.com/rk0qdg.png In order to establish a good grounding before we officially start our business, we will be hosting a launch night, inviting special guests to perform in front of an audience of music bloggers and writers, exchanging free tickets for free publicity. On the launch night we hope to have X Factor finalist Luke Friend and MTV unsigned competition winner Ebony Day, both artists with a strong social media following. We also hope to showcase stand-up comedian and actor Chris Ramsey, in order to emphasise that comedians are more than welcome to perform on the bus. Other supporting acts will be chosen by us via auditions, hopefully encouraging performers to sign up for the chance of performing in front of the press/writers, introducing them to our brand at the same time. In terms of costing, we want to keep our prices low, to encourage full capacity, so it will cost just £7 for a ticket, which, as most evenings will feature 4/5 acts, we think is a good price for the overall package. We will not be paying performers, instead we will give them the opportunity to promote their material, as well as hand out as many leaflets etc as they like. Our expenses will include petrol, for driving to different areas of London, staffing costs and upkeep of the bus, but we hope that - even if we only sell 50 tickets - that will generate £300 per evening, without taking into account profit made from the sale of food and drinks, which we imagine will generate the most profit. Advertising revenue also needs to be considered, although the exact price of advertising sales is difficult to determine before seeing how successful the business is. We hope to be able to offer 3/4/5 evenings of entertainment a week. We will be advertising our business mainly through social media. We hope that, with the help of our performers, who will tweet their followers about the gigs, we will be able to create hype about our brand through facebook advertising, whilst also using our twitter hashtag to gain free promotion. We also plan to sell advertising spaces on the bus in the form of posters, and possibly use adverts on our interactive screen during intervals. Social media will also be an important part in inviting potential performers to use our business to promote themselves and come and perform. We are really excited about our idea, and really hope that it will encourage potential artists to promote their material in a unique environment, whilst allowing fans of new music and comedy to enjoy an evening of both for a very small price, also giving bloggers the chance to experience events and discover new talent. We hope that you also like our idea. Thank you for listening! |
