Plus Emma never said that it was in no particular order.

Well Emma didn't announce 4 of the evictions so that's not saying much.

Has nothing to do with 90% of most casts being white and having a much higher chance of winning then? :omgno:

Racists and Harry Styles fans, yes

Daniel. 09-08-2016 08:48 PM

I bet that if three woman were like Heav, Bear and Lewis and a man had behaved like Sara, they would be top of the votes. It's blatant racism and sexism from a bunch of uneducated chavs in the crowd

It's hard to argue with a 17 year correlation that continues to be added to

Jamie89 09-08-2016 09:01 PM

I don't think it's overt racism btw, but I definitely think race has played a part in the popularity/unpopularity of the vast majority of housemates from ethnically diverse backgrounds.

The sad fact is that some of the public are racist, that can't be disputed, and yes some housemates can overcome that (Brian Belo/Shilpa etc) but that doesn't change the fact that for the most part, black/asian/indian etc housemates will always start off at a disadvantage that others don't face and will have to do more to be accepted.

Well said.

Ashley. 09-08-2016 09:05 PM

However I disagree that ethnic minorities are evicted early solely because they are a minority. Sometimes, it's purely down to coincidence.

I agree 100%. Minorities always start off at a disadvantage

I think the BBUK public are more sexist than racist though

Macie Lightfoot 09-08-2016 09:30 PM

yeah it's not a matter of people being explicitly racist, but this is a show that routinely rewards white people for being average and is extremely forgiving towards them, and you have to work your butt off to impress the public as a person of color.
