What an amazing week, wasn't expecting the confession. Glad the storyline will finally be over

Try years and years. Corrie's been treading water since 2014 at least. And even then the last solid chunks of truly unmissable Corrie were around Mad Maya's time, IMO.

3 BBC One - 07:30 PM EastEnders 5861 30.0%

5 ITV - 07:00 PM Emmerdale 5152 32.0%

Barely, though. This big week hasn't changed their ratings from how they normally are from what I can see since they're usually in the 6s anyway.

Gstar 25-05-2016 05:41 PM

I thought BGT get's like 10 million lol

I know, I said earlier that EE is holding up well

People are getting as bored of it as X Factor. :clap1:

Poor BGT flopping

Not BGT and Corrie being the highest rated shows when they've been stale for years

The British TV audience is trash

It's been a bit of a dodgy year for BGT ratings wise from what I've seen. Here for all of Cowell's shows getting the axe and BB outlasting them all :clap1:

An underrated EastEnders storyline

I hated her in the show.

May popping up at the car was like something from a straight to DVD horror film

Ashley. 26-05-2016 11:25 AM

The entire storyline was brilliantly told. One of the best of that decade.

That's going in my iTunes.

Dierdrick Santer was a fantastic producer. I think when I first started watching EE he had just become the new producer.

The show went into decline after he want, Kirkwood and Newman were especially terrible. DTC has made it a lot better but it's still nowhere near as good as the Santer era for me.

There's nothing original about DTC. He's trying to blast the show back to 2007 and it's not working.

He's just a fanboy TBH, the show hasn't been great under his control but it's been a LOT better than the eras of BK and Newman.

Some storylines he's produced have been great. Others... not so much.

I agree. I can't actually think of any storyline from the past two years that I'll look back on in ten years time and say "that was a good one". They're either dragged out to oblivion (WKL) or disappear within the space of a few days (Kat's secret son storyline :umm2:)

Actually, you're probably right. There's not been any memorably good storylines under his control or the ones that have been good were really short (Shabnams stillbirth for example). WKL is one of my least favourite storylines ever, it's turned characters I once loved into ones I loathe and it's dragged on for far too long to even be interesting anymore.

Plus, all the new characters he's introduced I haven't really connected with and I wouldn't miss if they were gone. Especially the Carters who are shoved down our throat at every opportunity.

The reintroduction of Shabnam was probably my favourite character he's brought in/brought back but she's gone now :(

It's one of DTC's weaknesses, he builds the characters around the storyline rather than building the storylines around the characters. Lee's depression comes to mind; that came out of nowhere. It seems like DTC just "assigns" certain issues to certain characters and it makes it seem less real.

Marsh. 26-05-2016 03:30 PM

I find Santer's era overrated.

The ongoing tedium of Hazel/Gary/Heather/Minty, the Roxy/Jack/Sean sh*te, Dawn and Phil's affair, killing Kathy offscreen. Kevin bloody Wicks, Carly and Dean(o), Chelsea's drug problem, Lucas story which was only good at the end, Sean robbing the Minute Mart. :umm2:

The Archie story, Danielle stuff was great leading to the 25th anniversary.

But apart from that he was very much style over substance.
