Frozen food is the best to buy as it will last ages ,just put it in the freezer and eat it whenever.

I can sort of understand the tinned food and pasta , but the fresh stuff needs to be eaten straight away.

I'm going to get something from Iceland as well. Just in case I run out of fresh food.

We use a lot of frozen meat at my workplace. I personally wouldn't eat it. Unless I had to.

We only have a small freezer which is always jammed full of stuff. Apparently there was a rush on people panic buying chest freezers too and you can't get one anymore

Iceland has some nice frozen food. I like their nuggets and breaded chicken fillets.

I have panic-bought a big sack of Rosie's food (12kg, lasts about 6 weeks) because I'm worried that Pets@Home will close and she'll end up on supermarket FILTH like pedigree chum :worry:

must admit I bought a big bag of dog food yesterday as well, as I could see the shelves beginning to empty.

Vanessa 19-03-2020 11:41 AM

Done my food shopping. There was a queue outside and inside it was packed

We always buy the huge sacks (far more economical) but I usually go last minute when it's literally a meal or two from empty, whereas there's a good 2 weeks left in the current bag this time. But now she's sorted for 2 months. Wish we ALL just ate doggy kibble, much easier to stockpile when it's just one big nutritionally complete bag :joker:.

Wait! I've got it! The solution to all of our problems...

It's a joke now, and its not really fair to expect supermarket staff to have to put up with the inevitable abuse

They will need to rearrange how the supermarkets/food shopping is done for everyone's safety if people are carrying on like that

To be fair it did say the elderly or vulnerable which includes younger immune compromised people. The same people that are bleating about it are doing it themselves that's why.

Spoke to a guy in Tesco who pointed out a woman with a full trolley has been in every day this week at the same time filling her trolley ridiculously high.

It's pathetic.
