Scary times

arista 26-08-2022 10:51 AM

A Scottish Power CEO
Keith Anderson

Has a great plan
The Government must pay out £100 Billion

to underwrite all the ability of power companies
not to charge this terrible rate
for the next 3 years or so.

Then pay back the Government Loan
over 7 or more years.

bots 26-08-2022 11:02 AM

so the people must take on a loan for 7+ years? Don't see how that is a great idea, it guarantees recession for 10 years

The Government takes on the loan
not us.

It is a clever pan.

Better than Starmer's plan

The Isle of Man
has a system like what the Scottish Power CEO says.

£100 billion is a lot of money though, that's even more than the furlough scheme cost

Yes
but it is possible.

Just hoping it's a reasonable temp this winter and not a freezing one

Nationalisation would cost around £2billion. Tories and Labour will both bail out these companies rather than trying to help the people. Absolutely crazy.

Much more than that low number.

But in any case, both parties are too scared of Nationalisation

arista 26-08-2022 11:58 AM

Left Winger James on LBC
started off his 10AM show saying he wants to Punch
a government member.
He was angry No Government Minister was on Any Media.

But on his Conclusion
he played Johnson PM
at a hospital talking to the media today.

No, they are committed to business over people. It's really that simple.

you are living in fantasy land. If the government payout 100 billion in support they will either cut services or raise taxes to pay for it. That will keep us firmly in recession

This is Not me.

It is Keith Anderson,
CEO of Scottish Power
His New Plan

The Slim Reaper 26-08-2022 12:10 PM

You did say that bailing out energy companies was a great plan

bots 26-08-2022 12:13 PM

nationalising the energy companies doesnt solve anything either, we still have to buy the energy at the market rate. The only way is to become energy self sufficient and that will take decades

All of those profits go back into reducing bills and improving services, rather than shareholders. EDF is 85% owned by the French gov and their energy rises have been capped at 4%. To say nationalisation doesn't solve anything is blatantly false.

Liz Truss
will have an Emergency Budget

She has the chance to save us.

Gusto Brunt 26-08-2022 12:32 PM

I was thinking of what £650 means now ever since shop and energy prices are going sky high.

That money has devalued masively. Probably worth less than £50 now.
