They probably don't want to get too cocky. It'd be a shame for them to extend it for a while and the ratings to start falling below 2m or whatever.

Yeah I get that. Tbh I'm fine with that length anyway, I don't think it should run as long as Big Brother, 6-7 weeks is perfect for a show like Love Island whereas BB should be around 9-10 weeks.
