:amazed: I really thought you would win Drew, really well done though, you put so much effort in

Thanks for the votes everyone and judges and most of all thanks to Shaun for a brilliant game once again. We all appreciate the time and effort you put into these games <3

Ammi 20-12-2013 08:39 PM

...so well done Niamh, you murdering missy....you played such a cool game and I didn't suspect you for a second....just brilliant...!!!...

..Drew, you're one of the best game players on TiBB, you would be a totally deserving winner and it was the hardest choice I had to make but for me in the end it came down to Niamh's cool playing of the killer and that she wasn't suspected at all, which to me is what the game is about...but you are an incredible player and it's like an art to watch you.......

Jake. 20-12-2013 08:40 PM

Yeah, thank you Shaun, this was really enjoyable (apart from when you tried to get me killed smh)

Donovan. 20-12-2013 08:40 PM

Yeah thanks Shaun for letting me play. It was great fun:love:

Shaun 20-12-2013 08:40 PM

Niamh, well done  you've been the perfect killer.

Drew, I really did want you to win but I'm afraid that since no one suspected her (except Braden but LET'S BE HONEST HE DIDN'T REALLY KNOW) you didn't really stand much of a chance :(

I'd like to thank Ben, James, Claudia & Matt for helping me decide the final results, for following the game since the start, and I apologise to Claudia for spoiling her love of a good whodunnit :p (they all knew Niamh was the killer at the start).

I'd like to doubly thank Matt for providing all of the graphics for a fifth time running  You continue to amaze me

And I want to thank all 16 players for devoting their time to this game... and especially give a shout-out to DrunkerThanMoses, who I was really eyeing up for the win before his cruel, standard, final hurdle :( You've made this run swimmingly, and pretty fun to manage... even through the illnesses.

In Cold Blood will be back, but for now, it's night night, and happy Christmas. Don't go getting strangled by sellotape, y'all xxx

Ammi 20-12-2013 08:41 PM

..Shaun, what can I say, you just made the whole thing wonderful, thank you so much for letting me be part of it........

Drew. 20-12-2013 08:42 PM

You played really well Niamh and not once did i suspect the killer was you, well done :)

Thanks a lot for hosting it Shaun and putting all the effort in, it's been brilliant.

Benjamin 20-12-2013 08:42 PM

Well done all, but well done Niamh for managing to stay undiscovered for the entire game.

I will echo that, I knew he'd win if I didn't kill him in that last round, If I was a better killer I would have killed him at the start but I knew the game would suffer if I did. I feel bad now for killing him and stealing his crown  ................... well not really haha

Niamh getting the ownage she deserves

Shaun 20-12-2013 09:29 PM

In the pitch black, Stefanie spoke first.
"What do you mean, Mariya?" and she heard a heavy thunk. She felt Demetri's stocky build falling against her shoulder, and it knocked her off-balance. She screamed.

Above, Hugh pounded against the wall and various buttons on the control tower console, shouting into all sorts of intercoms. He managed to strike lucky, and his broadcasts were picked up by amateur radio-users less than 5 miles away. They soon alerted the police, after working out Hugh's locations in among his less relevant pleas. In her cell, Ieva could only hear Hugh, and she stayed away from the door out of fear.

Back in the darkness, Chenzira had reentered his dreamworld, and as he danced with his brothers and sisters back in Zimbabwe, a fire began to spread in the corners of the basement. Rags, clothes and - soon - Chenzira's flesh fuelled the flames. As he passed into the next world, a cry of "mu tonhora ropa!" boomed around the room. He - Mariya couldn't believe it - literally turned to dust. Stefanie tried shaking Demetri off her and soon felt that her hands were covered in his blood. She tried kicking him away but the force of his body against her burns just peeled away at her skin and reopened wounds. She was in agony - but not for long, as Mariya brought down an iron rod against her temple.

With 3 bodies - or mounds of ash where bodies should be - in the room, Luiz and Mariya stood to face each other off, and Luiz gave a good fight. He disarmed her initially, and punched the silly woman in the jaw, knocking out 2 teeth. He made way for the entrance, and quickly tapped in that familiar tune of Edelweiss to reopen the door. As it began, he knelt to the floor to crawl through the gap and felt him being shoved right into the metal door face first. He tumbled out onto the cell block floor, followed soon by Mariya - and as Hugh looked down from the tower he was mortified to see her stomp on his skull. He'd never even twigged it might be her, and assumed Luiz was responsible for the murders because, idk, Australians don't trust Brazilians for some reason.

Hugh grabbed a candlestick from Livia's room in the tower - classy bitch - and headed down for an unusual face-off. The police were now within a mile of the prison, and sirens, many of them, could be heard. He reached the final staircase but couldn't see Mariya waiting outside, so instinctively looked down - to see Mariya take off the crucifix around her neck, tear off a piece of the end, and plant the jagged remainder into his shin bone. He stumbled forward down the last flight of stairs, and Mariya heard his neck snap. One less job for her, she figured, as she set off once more.

In her cell, Ieva had heard an odd series of bumps and thuds but nothing more following Hugh's commotion, and then the faint jingling of keys. Suddenly, she heard the latch on her door swing open, and Mariya stood there with a worried look on her face. For all of her trickery and cloak-and-dagger tactics, Mariya apparently wasn't smart enough to remember that she had attacked Ieva before, that first night in the showers, and so Ieva unsheathed a stone carving she'd been working on, and punched it right into her eye.

The officers arrived, and found Ieva's bloody rags and made the obvious assumption. It would take weeks to go over the prison's records and discover that she'd been cut off from the rest of the group, and so she was transferred to another prison with no addition to her 10-year sentence she'd begun 2 years ago. The ICB program was scrapped entirely, and regarded as the worst modern atrocity since 9/11; its founders were made redundant, and sued for millions by the bereaved families, although most of the public outcry was far less sympathetic for the 16 deaths of Livia and the inmates. Mariya Komarova became a household name, and with no family coming forward to handle her funeral she was cremated in a state hospital and her ashes disposed of impersonally. The prison itself was scrubbed clean, and its fire damages took 6 months to completely rebuild, but it soon serviced as a normal institute for low-level criminals within a year. Complaints of a disenchanted voice shouting in Shona were commonplace, as was the smell of cat hair.

Shaun 20-12-2013 09:31 PM

I thought it was a nice coincidence that the only person to escape the killer, in the story, turned out to be the one that suspected her

Jake. 20-12-2013 09:33 PM

Amazing

Braden 20-12-2013 09:33 PM

Congratulations finalists! You all played brilliantly and deserve a lot of credit.

A special well-done to Niamh for being a great killer and now winner. And a big thanks to Shaun for being the root to this amazing game and letting me play again.

Josy 20-12-2013 09:37 PM

Ah what a great ending to a great game :amazed:

Congrats Nimah  you played brilliantly the whole way through.

And congrats to you to Drew coming second, you also played a great game and put lots of effort in.

Also well done to the rest of the finalists for getting so far.

Thanks for yet another amazing game Shaun even when you were ill!

Shaun 20-12-2013 09:50 PM

The other finalists' characters, in case anyone's interested:

Quote:

Josy
Name: Chenzira Mujuru
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Nationality: Zimbabwean
Crime: Arson
Weapon of choice: Brick
Posting: right

Chenzira was born in the village of Tshotsholo. He never knew his father and his mother practiced the art of voodoo and black magic, which influenced him a lot. By the age of 17 he was a fully fledged practioner of black magic and often held rituals with his mother, who he loved a little too much. One afternoon he retuned from the neighbouring village of Bubi-Umguza, to find his mother in bed with a neighbour. Outraged he flew into a fit of anger in which his mother and neighbour tried to calm him down but to no avail.
Screaming 'Mu tonhora ropa' he pointed at them both and they dropped to the floor unable to move but still alive and still awake. He then approached them both and picked up a brick from the floor opening the neighbours mouth and forcing the brick into it. He turned his mothers head forcing her watch, he then lifted his foot and stamped down on the brick splattering the neighbours head everywhere. Picking up the brick from the gooey remains he then placed the brick inside his mothers mouth before shouting once more 'Mu tonhora ropa' and bringing his foot down and spilling her head onto the floor.
Leaving the house he sprinted from the village, but as he reached the edge he turned back and muttered a few words before sweeping his hand across the village view in front of him; all the huts suddenly burst into an inferno filled with pained screams that echoed into the creeping twilight. He managed to flee for two years before being tracked down in South Africa, and has been held in a highly secure containment with his mouth sown shut and his hands tied behind his back ever since.
Quote:

Marc
Name: Stefanie Bauer
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Nationality: German
Crime: Hacker
Weapon of choice: Your mind? Good luck with that 2baha
Posting: Right

As one of the game's few non-violent criminals, Bauer spent her teenage and adolescent years causing all sorts of hell for the German banking system. She discovered a group of online hackers on a website way back in 1999, and with them she's caused damage to German and international banking systems within the realm of $40m. Although obviously never getting any of the money for itself - the group had more political motives, trying to deal blows to the executives' massive bonuses - she set about trying to make a living from her web skills and set up an activist website that would raise money for various causes she and her associates would support, taking a small 1% of all funds raised to pay the bills. Soon, though, her ties and internet history, along with an increased global awareness of internet security, caught up with her and, after an attack on HSBC, she and 11 others were arrested and sentenced to 17 months in prison before transferring to the ICB program.
Quote:

Drew.
Name: Luiz Cabrera
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Nationality: Brazilian
Crime: Attempted bank robbery
Weapon of choice: Harpoon!!?!?
Posting: left

As the second youngest boy in a family of 9 children, Luiz struggled to get his mother's attention as a child and would spend much of it scrapping with his five older brothers. Too poor to attend school, he was one of Sao Paulo's many famed streetboys who'd try to rob townspeople and con tourists. He was streetwise enough to never go wanting or impoverished, and kept his parents happy long into their retirement. He fell in love with a tourist - an American girl called Louisa - and spent much of the summer of 2008 trying to court her. She was interested, he could tell, but much wealthier and had a boyfriend back home. He, and a group of friends, decided the best way to get her attention and prove himself was to buy her a beautiful ring he saw in a store, but it was protected too heavily by armed guards. Instead, he went for a small bank in the suburbs - only his friend Mateus messed up by taking off his face-mask. He got away, but Mateus was recognised by a policeman and the little **** grassed the whole gang up. They were sentenced to 8 years in prison, and Louisa left for home a month later wondering where that cute boy went.
Quote:

Jake.
Name: Demetri Bouras
Age: 51
Gender: Male
Nationality: Greek
Crime: Murdered his wife :idc:
Weapon of choice: Knife
Posting: Right

At the age of 17, Demetri left Greece to work as a waiter in the UK. He had a happy childhood, did reasonably well at school but was never going to be a doctor or a lawyer. His parents had died by the time he was 15 and so, having no family to keep him company or for him to look after, he tried to start anew. He worked for 11 years from cafe to cafe and the occasional restaurant, all the while saving up to open his own place he could use his Greek repertoire for. In 1992, he had enough to open a takeaway - named simply 'Demetri's' - and by this time he'd also fallen in love with a Cypriot immigrant named Helena. They lived happily together for 20 years until the business starting going under due to poor sales and the rise in fast food chains like Subway and Pret A Manger in London. He made a loss for 8 months in a row until he was eventually declared bankrupt and had to shut the business down. He could afford to live over the premises for the rest of his life but was now unemployed in the very midst of a recession. His wife was patient, but devastated, and their relationship struggled. They were now in their late forties and, in their eyes, too old to separate, but they'd never had children and Helena grew distant. In June 2008, Demetri came home drunk having spent all of his dole money on whiskey, and Helena lashed out, hitting him with saucepans and throwing glasses. Demetri snapped - her neck, to be specific - and doesn't remember it. In one blurred night he lost his wife and his freedom, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
