There he is

Shaun 04-05-2014 02:26 PM

well that was an exciting match.

Drew. 04-05-2014 02:27 PM

Pretty low key final home match, should have had some of the youngsters playing really, would have been ridiculous if anyone had got injured from that game. Clean sheet on the final day and Chesney wins the golden glove

Drew. 04-05-2014 02:28 PM

Sagna leading the lap of appreciation, he's definitely off

Spurs & Liverpool have both out spent us by a ton and Spurs have only managed to come top 4 once and Liverpool dropped away for years, even Chelsea whilst spending millions came 6th a couple of years ago. Wenger keeping top 4 secured every year whilst having a new stadium built, paying it off & losing key players every summer deserves credit.

Players have underperformed. However, hard to expect them to perform in a way as the training methods are mostly running... :umm2: ... and the tactics are based on 'how can we stop the opposition' rather than 'how can we hurt the opposition', Add to that a manager that writes you off whilst he's tactically inept.

I'm not sure if we will actually spend £200 million this summer, tbh.

About Wenger, it's a bizarre one in a sense. Had money to spend for a few summers apparently, yet haven't done so. He has done well to maintain top 4, but some fans do blame him for the loss of key players. Still feel he should of at least won a few cups in those eight years without a trophy.

I do feel he can't take you any further, though. Although it does seem like he'll be staying on.

Brother Leon 04-05-2014 02:39 PM

Any United fan who thinks we are really spending 200m is dreaming. We've been hearing this **** for years. Just fortunately we had Sir Alex so we could be outspent and still see off Chelsea/City.

You got rid of the manager so by what your saying you don't need new players. so why waste £200m?

Your one who want's Van Gaal in so who you gonna blame next season when you do sod all again? The tea lady?

Moyes could go on a killing spree and you'd still find some way to not lay any blame at his door whatsoever.

Probably blame the gun for the trigger being so easy to pull.

GiRTh 04-05-2014 02:46 PM

Remy is technically a QPR players yet he's at the ground. I;d love to see him in a Arsenal shirt. A bit of pace upfront to counter Giroud.

Yeah it probably is down to him not spending money and being ambitious enough that some players end up wanting to leave, i know that was the case with RVP. But to be able to lose these types of players year after year that carried the club the previous year and then to be able to finish top 4 season after season and compete is pretty impressive. Frustrating at the same time that we've not pushed on but it's only a matter of time before we do finally have a ridiculous summer when we spend loads and go for it.. I wouldn't be against a new manager coming in but i wouldn't mind seeing Wenger spending big this summer and seeing what he can do with the side over another season or two.

Ryan57 04-05-2014 02:48 PM

His absolutely gutless displays against big teams this season would have me still worried if I was an Arsenal fan, even if he spent big money.

Like playing for a draw, at home, against us when we're dire.

This 100%. everything is in place for Arsenal to be one of the biggest clubs in Europe never-mind England. The lack of success is due to a lack of ambition IMO

Ryan57 04-05-2014 02:51 PM

Wenger just seems to me like his time is up. Has done brilliant things, such as The Invincibles, double in 1998 and 2002.

He just seems rather dodgy tactically nowadays. Too stubborn tactically.

GiRTh 04-05-2014 02:58 PM

Torres on the bench.

He never was good tactically and many young manager give him a lesson these days. He's doine well and in the period when the stadium was being built his performance was IMO comparable to anyone but he's being passed by young manager and serous needs to start to think about this legacy.

I thought he said he'd retire at 60. He was 60 4 years ago.

Give us Griezmann, Bender, Aurier and a CB too and i'm happy.

GiRTh 04-05-2014 03:03 PM

Now Fulham are down Wenger can finally get Hangeland.

Locke. 04-05-2014 03:05 PM

Remy will be a really good signing for West Brom, they have been crying out for a striker all season

Drew. 04-05-2014 03:59 PM

Vela must be worth about £20m now and we've got a £3m buy-back clause on him.. 19 goals and 12 assists this season, surely it has to happen.

Brother Leon 04-05-2014 04:24 PM

If Chelsea kept Mata, they probably win the league tbh.

Not that I'm complaining they sold him

Ryan57 04-05-2014 04:45 PM

Wenger was asked about Remy being there, said 'I didn't invite him, maybe he likes how we play'.

Great response.

That's just a childish fantasy comeback by you though isn't it?

Better than going in circles. I'll put something about Moyes, you'll respond with it's the players, I'll then say it's Moyes and then you'll say it's the players.

There will never be an agreement.

MTVN 04-05-2014 11:29 PM

Funny thing is everyone always makes such a big deal of the matches between the top clubs and how 'these are the games you need to win to win the league' yet Chelsea have beaten City and Liverpool twice and taken 4 points off Arsenal. Their problem is not the massive matches but getting the important results against the weaker teams who don't find it all that hard to contain Chelsea

Black Dagger 04-05-2014 11:31 PM

Exactly. It was the likes of Cardiff, Sunderland, Villa who have ****ed up our season (if we don't win the league in these last two games)
