Was their strongest team they could ever put out, minus injured Tevez! They had Adebayor, Robinho, Barry, Richards, Toure, Ireland, Dunne etc etc.

And they got beat by a 39 year old Scotsman :laugh3:

King Gizzard 05-08-2009 09:47 PM

Trust me, you dont want Agbonlahor, he is ****. He runs and runs but thats about it, he has about 2 brain cells. even if he does score its just down to him kicking it and hoping it goes in.

If arsenal want a goalscorer try go for Vedad Ibisevic of Hoffenheim and Bosnia, or Patrick Helmes of Leverkusen and Germany

Novo 05-08-2009 09:50 PM

Celtic have still got to play in the 4th Qualifying round now

:laugh2:

We have one of them, his name is theo walcott.

And as for a striker gignac is def the best option.

King Gizzard 05-08-2009 10:03 PM

Walcott has quite a good brain on him, i wish gabby would play more like him, looking for the pass.

Nathan Delfouneso, our 18 year old striker is the future. He is prolific for the England u19s and will get alot of games this year

Senderos is awful.

Man Utd have just lost their best player and are writing off a team that is better than them, stupid Ferguson.

And i'm glad Chamakh hasn't come to Arsenal, 15m is way to much for a player that is as mediocre as him.
Disagree mate. I keep hearing people talk about Huntelaar but it's more about signing some one for the sake of signing some one. We have a much better player than Huntelaar in the similar mold in Eduardo IMO. Plus i think Eduardo is a better finisher as well. We don't need him IMO.

We need a central midfielder and for me that needs to be the number 1 aim.

Yes but his final ball is generally poor.

People like
Kieron gibbs
Nacer Barazite
Fran Merida
Jack Wilshire.

Should all be future stars and there is others at Arsenal.
All quality players already, who could play for lower premiership teams week in week out and be great players for them.

30stone 06-08-2009 12:07 AM

Mmm any one know if Riera's injury was bad??

like is it a long term injury?

30stone 06-08-2009 12:56 AM

Not counting youngsters who havent played first team yet... And not including goal keepers or reserve players.

Liverpool
Defence: Johnson, Agger, Aurélio, Carragher, Insua, Skrtel, Dossena (could leave) - 7
Midfield: Gerrard, Riera, Benayoun, Kuyt, Mascherano, Lucas, Plessis, El Zhar, Aquilani. - 9
Striker: Babel, Torres, N gog, Voronin. - 4
Total: 20

Arsenal
Defence: Sagna, Vermalelen, Gallas, Song, Silvestre, Djourou, Clichy, Gibbs, Traore. - 9
Midfield: Diaby, Fabregas, Rosicky, Nasri, Denilson, Ramsey, Wilshire, Arshavin, Eboue, Merida - 10
Striker: Van Persie, Walcott, Vela, Bendtner, Eduardo. - 5
Total: 24

Chelsea
Defence: Cole, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Alex, Belletti, Mancienne - 7
Midfield: Essien, Lampard, Cole, Mikel, Ballack, Malouda, Zhirkov, Deco, Kalou - 9
Striker: Shevchenko, Drogba, Pizarro, Sinclair, Sturridge, Anelka - 6
Total: 22

Man Utd
Defence: Neville, Evra, Ferdinand, Brown, Vidic, O' Shea, Fabio, Rafael, Evans - 9
Midfield: Hargreaves, Anderson, Park, Tosic, Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia, Gibson, Giggs - 11
Striker: Owen, Berbatov, Rooney, Welbeck, Macheda, Obertan - 6
Total: 26

So

Man Utd : 26
Arsenal : 24
Chelsea : 22
Liverpool : 20

So Arsenal were said to have not enough depth.
But it was just the vast amount of injuries we had.. as we have enough players..

This is why we shouldn't be written off as to get 4th or 5th, we have the depth we have the talent, injury free then we are contenders :cheer2:

King Gizzard 06-08-2009 01:18 AM

atm this is villas starting team

Friedel/Guzan

Young --Cuellar-- Davies --Shorey

Milner-- Delph/Sidwell -- Reo-Coker/Petrov --Young

Carew-- Agbonlahor/Delfouneso

Then when Sneijder comes riding into town we can start pushing forward :hello:

andyman 06-08-2009 01:34 AM

Glad Alonso has fk'd off, he just wants to be another Real Madrid gimp and we don't need players like that at Liverpool, he was not true for the club.. Plus we got more than we should for the gimp! Haha.

Liverpool will do great this season, our defence, midfield and attacking options is world class, great gameplay, with fantastic depth to beat any club in the world.. Which we always do! Haha.

Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea are going into the new season looking like sh*t! They buy sh*t, talk sh*t and will play like sh*t!

Champions League final.. Liverpool v ?

Prem league title.. Liverpool (We have the depth and attacking power to go all the way, the other big 3 just look so weak..)

30stone 06-08-2009 01:56 AM

Lol andyman i have missed your delusion recently.

did you watch emirates cup second day?

King Gizzard 06-08-2009 02:19 AM

I love the optimism lol and how gently it will be crushed over time

andyman 06-08-2009 02:39 AM

I missed the 2nd day of the cup, but i did see a video clip for a split second that had the Arsenal team being happy.. They won?

Look people, i know football inside and out and i am always right, me being wrong is not even known!

Liverpool already have the team to win anything, to beat any club.. Who beat Man Utd 4-1 and Real Madrid 4-0 last season? Who came 2nd leaving Arsenal and Chelsea miles behind?..

I will let the Football do the talking and i will lol at you all every Saturday evening!

Alf 06-08-2009 02:58 AM

if anyone breaks the top four
it will be everton

i think they'll be up challenging this season, with man utd, chelsea and liverpool

arsenal are on the down, man city overpaid money grabbers.

villa and spurs should do well, but maybe not up to the very top standard

west ham look the best of the rest

andyman 06-08-2009 03:09 AM

Evertom might even top Arsenal, but Man City will knock Arsenal out of the top 4..

It won't be a top power 5 because Arsenal will just blend into a normal mid table club like Tottenham..

1. Liverpool
2. Chelsea
3. Man Utd
4. Man City
5. Everton
6. Arsenal
7. Aston Villa

King Gizzard 06-08-2009 03:14 AM

I can't see liverpool doing any better than 4th tbh.

andyman 06-08-2009 03:24 AM

Who came 2nd last season?
Who beat Man Utd 4-1?
Who beat Real Madrid 4-0?
Who out of the top 4 mini table came top?

People here are smoking crack!
Liverpool have the best team to win the Prem league and Champions League.. People are foolish to say that Liverpool will not do well! Madness!

Look at last season, our best players are still at the club.. Only Liverpool and Chelsea have kept their best players.. Arsenal and Man Utd will be fighting for 3rd place! Muhahaha.

Shaun 06-08-2009 03:26 AM

When the **** are Arsenal going to sign someone

i agree
liverpool have the best spine through the middle in carregher (best natural defender in the world), gerrard (just a woderful player) and torres (best centre forward in the world). and im an everton fan saying this.

but if those three players are injured i dont think they have that much to offer especially having sold alonso.

Well Wenger said if we do bring a player(s) in it will be before the start of the season. So fingers crossed we see some transfer activity before our opener against the Toffees. Sign a bloody DM already!

I sincerely hope that the Rosicky rumour is false; our luck with injuries is beyond a joke now.
