My Pixar marathon will conclude tomorrow but for this afternoon and this evening I shall be watching the Frank Darabont prison movie classics, The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile.

Alf 04-12-2021 03:47 PM

Shawshank just finished. No matter how many times you watch that film it's always great. Great films should always be watched multiple times. A film like Shawshank should be watched at least once every couple of years.

Next up, The Green Mile.

Last night I watched the best Christopher Nolan film, The Prestige.

Alf 07-12-2021 12:29 PM

Just finished watching Schindler's List.

Probably seen this film in the double figures amount of times but always a great watch. A great way to pass away a cold and wet Tuesday morning.

I'm now trying to decide what film I shall watch this afternoon and then tonight.

One of the best.

Probably the most satisfying ending to a movie ever too. I saw this in the cinema on opening night and people were literally jumping out of their seats, cheering and applauding at the movie theatre scene at the end.

Incredible. If only WWII had ended like that eh?

Just watched the best Scorsese film "Raging Bull" this afternoon. Shortly I will watch the second best Scorsese film "Goodfellas" I may then watch "Wolf of Wall Street" to complete a Scorsese triple bill but that will depend on how I'm feeling after "Goodfellas'

Great film, however it is quite similar to Goodfellas so I won't be watching that today.

Casino is brilliant!

Sonic The Hedgehog - It was so nice to watch something from Hollywood that's just fun. Yes it isn't the most profound story (which is to be expected) but it does what it sets out to do really well imo.

I'm giving the Film a 10/10, I really enjoyed the characters, the story for what it was and it did have a really good Sonic vibe to it imo.

But it was a big plus watching something made in Hollywood that weren't overly political or reveling in being depressing & joyless.

I didn't watch" Wolf of Wall Street" I was too tired after "Goodfellas" for a 3 hour film.

I’m kinda envious ... I’m currently watching The Tudors boxset of an evening .

Although ... Sky now have the Deadwood boxset on demand ... amazing series

Loosely based around actual people and events .. Wild Bill Hickok , Calamity Jane

Features Powers Booth , Ian McShane , Keith Carradine etc

This afternoon I watched Oliver Twist. David Lean's 1948 version. Bloody fantastic it was.

This evenings film will be Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.

Found my DVD of Dazed and Confused after years of looking for it, so shall be watching that later on. One of my favourites!

Alf 12-12-2021 09:16 PM

Even though I was multi tasking through that film with here and twitter, The Wolf of Wall Street is a classic, one of Scorsese's best. Definitely his funniest.

James Bond - No time to die

I enjoyed it ..... but .....

Spoiler:
