"It's a lot to do with Jean's story," Kate said. "I talked before about looking at Jean's mental health through the lens of her physical health. Obviously we know that Stacey has been in touch with Sean... but Jean doesn't know that!

"Jean hasn't seen him for 10 years, so there's a lot of stuff to play in there as well, when Jean finds out. So that's quite a big old deal."
Erm, this is bollocks. Stacey has randomly mentioned speaking to Sean once in a while pretty consistently since she came back. Especially since it was Sean that gave her the key which led to their secret siblings. :skull:

I mean once Kate Oates takes over I'm forgetting everything that has happened in the last 2-3 years, so

Is Miss Oates referring to Stacey skyping Sean about 4 years ago? :skull:

Just watched it back.. oop! I’m so not interested in Hayley anymore that I’m not paying attention to her scenes

Marsh. 23-01-2019 11:35 PM

I like Hayley but the writing/storylining is absolutely piss poor.

It was funny when DS would moan about Hayley changing her mind and then changing it back again in regards to the baby and stuff. It's part and parcel of the story, of someone struggling. But it's literally beyond a pissing joke now. The repetition is excruciating.

Tuesdays episode was a tad coherent

Harry Reid is disappointed, not upset

Our Stace being unbothered by Phil's thuggish behaviour

Firewire 24-01-2019 08:39 PM

She was amazing

Standing up to a bully!

Omg just remembered Mo's line about Brexit. A howl!

Gstar 24-01-2019 11:50 PM

I love how Hayley isn't there, it's already given the other Slaters more time to shine, and it's also nice to see the other storylines actually going somewhere (slowly but surely). I must say I'm lowkey here for Denny, he's performed quite well this week

Gstar 24-01-2019 11:54 PM

Random but I miss when Whitney had a job at the school, it gave her something to do and she also works well with children. Icr how she lost her job but I hope she gets it back, this way she might be able to get her own place and have Tiffany living with her, which will make the possible Bianca/Ricky return 10x better

Denver 25-01-2019 12:26 AM

Jean is going to be diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer

Marsh. 25-01-2019 08:29 AM

Whitney's job at the school was pointless. It didn't give her abything to do. IIRC it just gave her a 5 minute feud with Sharon over Denny bullying someone.

Firewire 25-01-2019 09:40 AM

I forgot she worked at the school :laugh2:

Oop apparently according to Kate Rob has been asked to return as Sean pretty much every year since he left

But... why? I don't recall him being that great?

Firewire 25-01-2019 12:49 PM

Lacey Turner demanded it?

Personally I thought Sean was a really good character involved in some really good story lines in his short stint. I know DTC wanted him back for the Secret Slater story line and I’m assuming Santer/Kirkwood wanted him back for the Archie and Stacey leaving sagas. Newman may have wanted him back for Jean’s departure and as Marsh put to me earlier, SOC probably wanted him back to kill him off!

The Denny thing was stupid but it was a good thing for her!
