Good cast, good director, but the film wasn't good. I stopped caring about any of the characters about half way through 3/10

The second in my Jamce McAvoy double bill. I didn't like this one either, it was gritty and dark 3/10

Dark Skies

If only more horrors were made like this, it was well paced, a nice amount of jumpy bits 7/10

Spring Breakers

This was a surprise, it was moody, fast and then slow. The girls could teach the Hangover guys a thing or two about partying. A few of the scenes seemed to go for iconic imagery rather than realism, but I think that added to almost dreamlike quality of the movie 8/10

Before Sunrise - 9/10

So simple but so amazing. The whole film takes place over one night and is really just about two people walking around a City and getting to know one another, never thought a film like that would be so interesting.

Before Sunset - 8.5/10

Went into this with slightly higher expectation because it had the same IMDb rating as the first one but also a slightly higher Metascore. I don't think it was quite on par with the first but it was still a brilliant film and definitely one of the best sequels I've seen, and the ending was perfect. I don't know how either one of them didn't win any awards for best dialogue or script or whatever.

(500) Days of Summer - 7.5/10

Zooey Deschanel's character is an absolute bitch. That about sums it up.

Currently near the end of Sket

G.I Joe: Retaliation. Worst action film I have seen.

Snow White and the Huntsman, starring our very own Gypsy Goth! It was okay, it entertained me... decent twist on the fairy tale and not bad when there's bugger-all on telly. 7/10

Moonrise Kingdom 5.5/10 - It was a well made film the settings were amazing but the story was a bit **** it was so predictable and everything seemed overacted and all the characters seemed really depressed all the way through

It was almost a good movie. Part of it worked well and it looks great, I think it needed better female characters 6/10

Prozac Nation

A girl who is good at writing gets a scholarship to go to a top university. I found it pretty sad to watch 7/10

The Philadelphia Experiment

It's a tv movie made by the SyFy channel. An ep of The Walking Dead probably has a bigger budget than this movie had, nonetheless it was watchable 5/10

The Place Beyond The Pines

Like Zero Dark Thirty, I'm unsure why this movie is called this. I mean there are trees in it, and I'm no tree expert however they looks like sycamore or something rather than pines. Anyhoo the acting in it is first rate and the movie apart from a few thrilling scenes is long and broody 7/10

Oz The Grate And Powerful.

The Croods.. it was brilliant!

I don't think I've enjoyed a kids film that much for ages :)

Carlito's Way - Second time I've seen it and didn't like it much more than the first. Never seems to have a good flow and is probably longer than it needs to be. Prefer when Pacino is playing the Gangster on top rather than the retiring or down and out one. Plus didn't like the narration, he was talking like a black guy. 6.5/10

Skyfall -Really enjoyed this for the second time. Daniel Craig is great as James Bond. This is so much better than Quantum Of Solstice. 8/10

Weird Science - Pretty good.

And of course starring, the gorgeous, at the time, Kelly Le Brock.

American Mary - Loved it from the start to the finish; randomly wired. Katharine Isabelle amazing as always :worship: - 5/5

The Hobbit. 9/10. Thought it was better than Lord of the Rings Trilogy. A bit more humour with lots of colourful characters and plenty of action throughout the film. Never a dull moment.

Ammi 14-04-2013 07:01 PM

The Hobbit...8/10..

Oblivion - 9/10
Probably unlikely to go down as a classic but I loved it. Amazing setting, amazing cast, interesting story, sublime score from M83 (especially the final track over the end credits ). Only criticism is there wasn't enough Morgan Freeman or The Kingslayer, and its disappointing Melissa Leo never appears in person. Andrea Riseborough was the standout for me though... :worship:

The Host - 2.5/10
Absolutely horrendous first half hour, almost felt like walking out and sneaking into the next GI Joe Retaliation. It picked up though and Diane Kruger pretty much carries the film, which is just as well as the cast is poor. Usually like Saoirse Ronan, she would have made a good Katniss Everdeen if Jennifer Lawrence had turned it down, but she made a poor choice starring in this tripe. But, then again what can you expect from the mind of Stephanie Meyer.

Roll on Iron Man 3, Star Trek Into Darkness and Man Of Steel... :amazed:

Rock of Ages - 4/10

Didn't know it was a musical before I watched it, thought it was a biopic on some rockstars life. Was pretty funny anyway, Russell was great in it and Tom Cruise made a fool of himself, but in a good way. Julianne Hough is a top ranking GIP aswell.

Ryan57 17-04-2013 02:07 PM

The Dark Knight Rises. Brilliant again from Christopher Nolan.

Vanessa 17-04-2013 02:16 PM

Alien. A masterpiece! :worship::worship::worship:
