aside from being lyrically and vocally decipherable, the beat was clear and much catchier and it spawned catchphrases and memes. All that sticks in the head after this one is the mouth-eyes.

Yeah true, I'm not disputing that the other wasn't a good song, I just find this more interesting :p

Pharrell feature could go either way, I know this sounds stupid but either his features are smash hits or they completely go under the radar, there's rarely a middle ground.
