That's right - dormant threads from two, three and four years ago have suddenly been deleted for no good reason. Fair enough if they'd been locked for no further posts, but that's three years of effort from both me and you down the drain.

For FOUR YEARS there's been no major problems with the Razzies, but now it seems they're the biggest burden ever, and I'll be damned if I'm wasting any more of my time on a forum game that's clearly not going to see the light of day past December.

So, given this and the drama over the opt-out list, this year's ceremony is now cancelled - sorry to the majority of you who were looking forward to them.

Omg! I hope the opt-out drama you're referring to isn't Novo's text to me? It was just a joke

Mystic Mock 09-11-2012 12:05 AM

I agree Matt, past games are normally good to look back on so it's not fair that they was deleted.

GypsyGoth 09-11-2012 12:05 AM

If anything it's the normal everyday threads here that cause the most drama. Arguments break out in ones about the weather or puppies. It seems a shame to single out The Razzies.

I don't care anymore, the point is they shouldn't have been removed in the first place

Fair enough, I would be, but to blame us is out of order. All we did was answer your question.

Benjamin 09-11-2012 12:08 AM

If you follow my suggestion and ask admin if they can be restored, they may do it. It's worth asking before getting in a rage and cancelling everything.

Marsh. 09-11-2012 12:09 AM

Isn't there archives of old versions of the forum?
Surely they could be retrieved somehow.

Not a problem, I meant the drama that led to me introducing the opt-out list

Again I'll say that when you're not aware exactly who's responsible you'll speak in general about the whole staff, because you know it's got to be one of them. At that point I wasn't aware, and to be fair, your explanation stated that "They were deleted by admin and mods", which itself is a generalisation.

Obviously I'm now well aware who deleted them.

It's not about getting them back, it's about them being deleted in the first place.

I don't see any reason to put effort in to a game (and Shaun and Dezzy know exactly how much effort I went to this year) if moderators are going to make up the rules behind my back, and if the results are clearly inevitably going to end up deleted (I haven't even mentioned the 2011 ceremony which hasn't been seen since the day it took place).

It's just a waste of time, and I'm not going to waste any more of my time.

Please stop blaming the mods. Admin made the decison. I've been a host, i know how much effort goes into games, but you need to take this up with admin.

And you please stop saying I'm blaming the mods when I'm only explaining the reasons I made a generalisation (which you're partly responsible for).

Especially when I've already made it clear who I'm blaming:

I'm not taking it up with admin, I've already spoken to admin about the opt-out list. If anything admin should be taking it up with me and explaining what the hell the bloody problem is.

Shaun 09-11-2012 04:05 AM

What's the actual point? Was there a thought in James' head that said "oh crap, so-and-so might read up on the 2009 Razzies and reinstigate that argument about webcams"?

And even if there was something salacious or controversial, do you think deleting the thread is going to make it go away?

I shouldn't be surprised, this is coming from an admin that thinks swearing is so naughty, but whatever. Sad times.

that said, Matthew, bloody do it or I'm divorcing :nono: it's worth the night, tbh, even if it gets closed the next day

..I think that’s a shame..not only for you Matt, obviously but for everyone else as well...

...I don’t think I’ve fully understood the Razzies before, but as a very wise person has pointed out...forums, life..everything in general has good stuff and bad stuff....if you try to have one (eg ML etc) without balancing it up with the other..it won’t make the bad stuff go away..it’ll only make it seep more into other parts of the forum...and possibly cause more bad feeling and arguments than the Razzies ever could have.....

..people not being able to express their views never makes for a good environment..and they won't be held in anyway, they'll just find another outlet.....

CharlieO 09-11-2012 06:50 AM
