was expecting it in that range, should pick up on officials, can imagine alot of people catching up like i did myself
|
There's no buzz this year
|
Apparently it may be higher because that only includes people who have watched 50% of BB so far.. Confusing tweet
|
I wouldn't call that accurate, apparently it's a little higher and we don't know if it includes +1 either (according to DS)
|
@overnightstv: @unhappybbfan Hi there. No - just "heavy viewers". Total for last night was 902k/4.3% on C5, and 123.7k/1.2% on C5+1 http://t.co/Gu75jKfL7Z

Actually 1.025m

I was expecting slightly higher, 996 I think I said.
My god tonight they are totally screwed right in the anus. Up against Corrie and the football. I think BB14 would have held up better last night, I think it would have managed to stay above 1 million, it seemed to have more of a following. BB is a show you really have to invest in so the fact the world cup is on maybe people just don't want to commit to watching 3 months of it. Its its ALOT of tv to watch/ People have lives. Or it could be that the launch turned everyone off. It will be interesting to see the officials then we will know if the fanbase is still there or if the if 1.5 to 2 million who usually stick with the summer series have simply tuned out. |

I reckon thats gonna be the norm while world cup is on....one thing that may come out of this is a jump in viewers in july when its finished..... /optimist

It came 3rd in its slot I think, BBC2 Mock the Week debuted at 1.0m and Ch4 was at like half a million or less! |
I think that it held up considerably well

Other things in the 10pm slot...
BBC2- 1.00m Ch4- 470,000 Channel 5 doesn't look too bad. It shows the fan base really, Mock the Week started with 1.00m (stupid idea to have its new series start last night against the World Cup, I'm guessing the crossover is big for the WC and MTW). Usually Mock The Week gets 2.3-2.9m. So for BB to beat a show which usually thrashes BB is interesting. It shows that the Mock The Week audience is more of the World Cup audience than BB/World Cup. Not surprising, MTW has a big male audience. |
There even struggleing to get the eviction crowds to come none wants the free tickets.

Tonight's fully booked! http://i.imgur.com/FyGRKi2.png ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ FAIL. |
It won't be as bad after today. If it starts at 10 then it doesn't clash with any games..until the knockouts and there is a chance of extra time anyway.
|
Fair play for it last night. What do we think tonight? The thought of a first eviction being below a million depresses me a lot :(
|
The ratings are good if your comparing them, it beats BBC 2 and Channel 4. Its not just Channel 5 who struggles to get ratings its most of the channels this time in the year.

ITV- 11.20m BBC1- 2.8m (Mrs Browns Boys repeat) + 2.2m (Question Time) Ch5- 1.03m BBC2- 1.00m Ch4- 470,000 |
The ratings are OK in my eyes. They do show that BB has a strong, dedicated audience just under (or around) the 1 million mark. That's pretty good for a show that has been on TV for 14 years.
I do worry though that this may put off C5 carrying on with the show. Sure it's their flagship program although it was on C4 too and we know what happened there. |

CBB on the otherhand is a huge success. |
I think it is to a certain extent. A show that's on for 3 solid months with 1 million+ viewers a night is pretty good (for C5). I doubt they could manage to get that with other shows.
CBB does far better of course so that is probably more of their flagship program. Although the civilian series does the channel just as well with viewing figures. |
