Just watched the premiere and I didn't think it was great TBH. It felt far too rushed and it feels like there's way too many players this season (I've watched plenty of seasons with twenty players in before but this one just feels incredibly messy). The first episode was REALLY rushed but the second one was better. Only really bothered about Sandra and Michaela at the moment.

I don't eat meat, but I just fail to realise what makes her a 'queen' for wanting to slaughter a baby goat and it's mother - It's not like they're starving which I could understanding, it's not even as if She was willing to do it, she was wanting someone else [who didn't want to do it] do it. If she really needed the meat she should do it herself.

I just find it unjustifable and it really hurts her character, all the other survivors even said they're not hungry and they have plenty of food it'd just be cruel to kill all those baby goats just for the sake of it.

Have to agree, something missing from this season, I mean apart from Sandra and Tony its kinda been crap so far. It needs some good blindsides, hopefully it will pick it.

Just watched the most recent ep

Bye Caleb x

Calderyon 20-03-2017 02:15 PM

Hali played well in the last episode and deserved to stay for that regard, but Mana tribe is being stupid and just asking for trouble getting rid of their strength. They are still at least a few eps before back to two or a merged tribe and iīm pretty sure that with this Mana team they are going to lose most of them.

Headie 20-03-2017 04:15 PM

The theory of "we need to keep x because they're strong and muscular" is so stupid - like if you're not winning the challenges now with them in the team what makes you think keeping them round will make your tribe suddenly start winning?

Surely it's better to get the strong threats out early so they don't snatch all the individual immunities at merge

DrunkerThanMoses 20-03-2017 07:02 PM

Every vote off so far has been unanimous votes against one person. Yawn. I think the fact we have a spoilered boot list as well as a rumoured final 3 it just sucks all the fun out of the season

MB. 20-03-2017 07:11 PM

Except the non-unanimous Tony vote (granted, that was Sandra making sure she didn't get idol'd out, but still)

And as long as this season is better than MvGX, which it currently is - as if that's a high bar to reach - then I'm happy!

But Caleb's 0-3 track record this season would've helped Mana out so much!!!

caprimint 20-03-2017 09:34 PM

Nobody is strong enough as one person to win every challenge if the team aren't working well together/as strong as they could potentially be. Losing Caleb just isn't going to strengthen them because it's highly likely he would be more help than Hali. It's a team effort and Caleb seems to be a lot more driven/motivated than Hali. She pretty much sat there and 'hoped for the best' at tribal and she got lucky.

Macie Lightfoot 20-03-2017 09:46 PM

I just think the idea of keeping the tribe strong is laced with sexism, especially when Caleb's strength is just his physique. Hali swam against Ozzy in the first IC and held her own from what I remember  then again, Eliza @EOrlins Orlins has been on this absurd anti-Hali crusade and furiously retweeting anything involving her dropping the snake in the second IC

Calderyon 20-03-2017 10:23 PM

It might be that Mana is just the tribe that sucks at everything, loses a lot and is somehow cursed. Most Survivor seasons usually have that tribe and this time itīs Mana. Donīt like that name being tarnished though.

rk3388 21-03-2017 12:40 AM

It's not sexism :idc: It's just a fact they usually cast way more fit guys than girls. Caleb is absolutely going to be way better at challenges than Hali, it's ridiculous we're going to pretend he's equally responsible for losing as the others .

They need to cast more Michaelas (strong + competitive females) or at least cast more guys without 6 packs and muscles

"Keeping the tribe strong" is really code used by certain players/the Survivor Facebook page for "keep dudes with big muscles and get rid of the women" and if you want to say that that mindset isn't laced with sexism then you're just lying to yourself. Like I said, Hali held her own against Ozzy in the first IC when they had to swim, and the Survivor Facebook page continually jerks itself off to how great of a swimmer Ozzy is. The only thing I can think of that Caleb did in a challenge this season was lead his tribe through the thickets as opposed to crawling over them in this week's challenge. That quickly put Mana in last place and they ended up losing  I don't see how losing Caleb is going to hurt Mana when he hasn't done anything at all to help them. Having big muscles doesn't meant you're keeping the tribe strong, especially when the tribe is weak as ****.

Being a physical competitor does not make a win, you need to be a mental giant too.

Michaela is probably the second/third strongest overall so it's not at all gender related.
