Michonne having the audacity to not want a former prisoner living with them, when there's one currently there in the shape of Negan. So stupid.

Yeah that part made me cringe a bit.

great episode, lots of fun Daryl/Carol/Henry scenes :clap1: aw @ Daryl with his new dog who he calls Dog

Michonne and Magna's group getting along a bit better than before  after she destroyed Luke's violin with her sword :o

Spoiler:

someone at the end of ep was watching Michonne & Magna's group, i suppose that were some of the whisperers again, Eugene MIA probably we will find out about him in the next episode, cause they are going to that shed where Rosita left him

  • Honestly I think Rick leaving was for the best. While 9x01-9x05 was great, it sorta felt weird having Rick live for Judith, as odd as it sounds. There was more emphasis on him living for Carl than Judith than anything, and Rick living for Carl's message isn't as impactful as him living for alive Carl. I think them shifting to a Michonne/Judith dynamic was the best choice, even if it wasn't like they had a choice lmao
  • I really love how badass Judith is. It's just so in character for Michonne to raise her like that lmao
  • RJ!! I'm so glad Michonne isn't alone, even though she lost Carl and Rick
  • Daryl's been... good this season? wtf
  • Carol is still badass and a mum again. And while I don't doubt she and Ezekiel became parent figures to Henry, it is a tad jarring to hear him call them mum and dad
  • Aaron being a dad is GREAT. all I needed was to her gracie to call him dad to wanna cry. I really hope we see more of Aaron, he's one of the few Alexandrians left standing
  • Him and Jesus ninja training is cute
  • Talking of Jesus, it's in character for him to not take the leadership role given how he's always been the assistant, but it's also in character since he definitely would do it for Maggie. Kind of a shame he's not grown into a true leader, but...
  • Tara being the true leader of Hilltop is GREAT! I've loved Tara and always thought the idea of an 'enemy' turned friend was cool (even if a good number of Saviors have done the same). Would never have imagined the sister of the Governor's girlfriend would end up leading a community 8 years in the future
  • on that note, I like seeing people's new roles. Enid being the Hilltop doctor, for example
  • I don't think I've ever warmed to a group as quick as I have with Magna's group. Magna and Yumiko are cute, I actually enjoy a comic relief character for once (sorry Eugene, but I refer Luke) and the inclusion of a deaf character is great. Also they managed to make me care and feel for them in the last episode, which is cool, given how short I/we have known them for
  • Part of me isn't looking forward to more villains being introduced. I sorta enjoy Soap Opera-y it's gotten. I wouldn't want it to go on forever, but it'd have been nice to see some more of the Kingdom after the long timejump... and even Alexandria to an extent

Always thought if they weren't gonna hook her or Eugene up, she would go with Tara or Siddiq. A lot happens in 6 years and I remember Gabe and Rosita had a nice moment in Season 7 but yeah. Interesting combo

TWD romances are normally quite rough imo.

Honestly, the TV ones are nothing compared to the comic ones :joker:

Abe and Sasha will forever FLUMMOX me (they were nice together but could Sasha just have a longterm boyfriend for ONCE? )

I'll stop before I get into how Abe was dealt a massive injustice :idc:

I've not read the Comics, but I can imagine that they do it better as Book/Comic mediums tend to normally handle their Romances in a more natural manner compared to TV Shows who try to force scenes between the couple to make the audience care for their relationship, rather than letting them naturally flow.

And I really felt sorry for Sasha as just as she was about to build a dynamic with Abraham the show decided to end it. It was absolutely shocking imo.

I barely read the comics but I do keep up to date on them, so I can't comment on the forced scenes/interactions in the comics. There have been some... questionable relationships though :joker:

Abe's death was really obvious to me. But I was sorta put off by how obvious Glenn's also was

Glenn's death was cruel, gruesome, and took too long. We barely saw any of Abe's death. It was clear they just used Abe to create a sense of safety and in the process they ****ed over Abe's fans and threw away a storyline for him while doing it. And while I loved that he got mentions and Sasha and Rosita bonded over, Maggie's speech at the end of Season 7 just proves that the main focus was on Glenn's death more than anything

So gutted that the first half of the series is over

It has been amazing. Quite possibly my favorite ever season. Which was a relief as the last two seasons were dreadful! The last episode was actually really scary!!!!

Ant. 28-11-2018 02:56 PM

Yknow, in a show about the dead coming to life, I've learnt to suspend belief. But there's some things I wanna know regarding... the Whisperers (spoilers):
Spoiler:

That mask looked pretty stitched on. I wonder how they stitched it

How do they not run the risk of infection? I'm sure Gabriel became so ill and eventually blind because using Walker guts to mask himself made him ill. And simply being injured with blades coated in walker guts was enough to cause a fatal infection in people as we saw in season 8 when the Saviors attacked the Hilltop. Do they just do it and hope they survive?

Daryl was out there for 6 years and NEVER saw Walkers behaving suspiciously? REALLY? Where the hell have they been hiding?

I wonder how long the Whisperers have actually existed. Did they come together at the start? Were they together when Rick arrived at Alexandria? During the 1.5 year time jump? Between the 6 year time jump? Many questions

... do the walkers really follow other 'walkers'? They said that walkers mainly react to the stimuli light and sound (hence why explosions, gunshots and fire draws walkers). So surely the bright flame in the dark should've overrode the desire to walk in a pack? Not saying it's a flaw in the canon, but I can't think of a time where it's been explained as to why walkers instinctively walk in herds. If I knew that these question would be nonexistent

Jesus' death scene is one of the best in years!

I really wanna be mad about his death because of how underused his character was (Tom Payne went IN in his interviews) but I won't lie, I loved it. I had the death spoilt for me months ago so I was anticipating it but I still had anxiety and shock when it happened. And they somehow made the Walking Dead scary again? The atmosphere, the fog, the way it was filmed... Jesus' death was brilliant

(On the topic of deaths, it's weird how The Walking Dead was so consistent for years and then this year they've completely mixed up the cast. Just over a year ago, we went from having 5 S1 characters (Rick, Carl, Daryl, Carol, Morgan) to 6 (+ Morales), back to 5... then to 4 (Carl's death), andwithin a year Rick and Morgan left the series. And oddly enough, I love the divergence. But with the loss of Rick, Maggie, and now Jesus I don't know if I should be complacent or worried for the death count in 9b :worry: )

Oh and Enid and Alden are certainly a.... uh... choice (a bit jarring to think that she's dating someone around 10 years older than her because we first met her as like, a 12/13 year old? and her actor hasn't changed despite her character not being 19/20)

Babayaro. 29-11-2018 12:25 AM

The whisperer ducking from Jesus' swing is one of the most terrifying moments on the show

The Walking Dead season 9 is back exactly next month now

Nicky91 05-02-2019 01:14 PM

Strictly Jake 05-02-2019 01:16 PM

yes and
Spoiler:

an escaped captive revisits his past, Negan going back to sanctuary, that bit what we saw in the trailer bits in last ep of first half

Ant. 08-02-2019 11:09 PM

is this a ****ing joke
Spoiler:

https://comicbook.com/thewalkingdead...-exit-leaving/

Michonne was and is an amazing protagonist and I really do believe only her could've taken up Rick's role in the show. Regardless, I'm just hoping we get to see Carol become the main role (assuming there will be one)

Strictly Jake 08-02-2019 11:16 PM

What!!!!!! You have to be ****ing kidding me! But I love her so much!!!!!!!!

Cal. 09-02-2019 12:10 AM

So Michonne is moving to the movies?

Naturally Carol must take over then.

user104658 09-02-2019 09:39 AM

I think this was inevitable as she'll be getting countless job offers at the moment, if she doesn't jump on it before her time with Marvel ends she could lose the opportunity to move into big movies forever.

I personally don't think TWD actually needs a "lead".

If they force Daryl onto us I'll ****ing fume

Carol's had more growth and given how she's not reclusive like Daryl, it only makes sense for Carol to take the limelight

DO NOT give Daryl the centre stage

Strictly Jake 11-02-2019 03:55 PM

It's tonight people!!!!!

Strictly Jake 11-02-2019 10:26 PM

King Negan trying to get back to his Roots!

The whisperers are really weird!!

Josy 12-02-2019 09:08 PM

Amazing episode, those whisperers as creepy as hell too
