Plus, yes the ratings are low for a Winter series but tbh considering all series the split shows have been disastrous, last night was actually quite high. That share for the second show is really good.

*mazedsalv** 03-02-2018 09:22 AM

Low for winter but for a late slot even for a final that's quite good for 2nd show.

That double digit share too is great.

CBB20 final got 1.58m didn't it?

Why would it considering the biggest rating bar launch that this year got was 1.77m?

A little better than I expected but still awful for January dread to see how low summer bbuk will go

A little better than I expected for the second show which held up well and got a decent share, good in context of the series.

Overall though, down 600k on last winter and the least watched final ever with the first show being 10k down on summer :(

LukeB 03-02-2018 10:33 AM

:skull: those are quite poor ratings. Its probably ok to have least watched winter final but least watched final ever is awful.

Perhaps civilian. But I'm starting to think just like C4, the difference between winter and summer will be smaller.

For all we know we could be getting similar ratings for CBB22? Optimistic though.

It's just a c5 thing that winter has been much higher than summer. Perhaps just like c4, the difference will be small? I know BB outrated quite a few CBBs pre BB8.

I think the launch of BB19 if promoted well could be bigger than BB18s 1.3m. That was always going to struggle when it started the same day as LI and clashed with Corrie.

Also this series ended positively so the post final feelings are higher than I remember I think a lot of people who watched this series will give BB19 a go.?

Oh yeah my mistake it was 1.8m in officials

Hopefully this is just a blip. CBB15 bounced back from CBB14 with over a million viewer increase.

We want messy housemates, fights, sex and controversy (to put it bluntly)

The only controversy this series had was a dragged out battle of Gay/trans/womens rights which was cute for a few days, not the entire series, which can also be the main reason for the lack of viewers as it’s a touchy subject (and not in a good way, just a bit awks, and like I said it was dragged out for the entire series) There were no other interesting storylines, another reason why I stopped watching, along with the 800k viewers who also tapped out compared to last year.

They can’t be pulling off risky stunts like this, it’s not 2002. Also, people are getting confused as to why a lot of us didn’t like the series, stating that we like all the TOWIE crap. No. The new format/editing is great, just a weak housemate selection

You can have the best house, tasks, eye etc. It’s the housemates who make it. BB4 was the aftermath of BB3 when BB was probably the most popular show in the country at the time, they had everything perfectly planned.. apart from the housemate selection which was very weak. And then for BB5 they learned from their mistakes and seen a big increase in ratings

We want drama, entertainment, interesting people. Not a group of housemates who went to bed at 10pm every night

To the people praising this series as one of the best, you’re not helping. You’re making producers think that this is what the viewers want when it clearly isn’t. Love Island is coming for everyones wig this year and we cannot afford to have a series like this again

LukeB 03-02-2018 02:03 PM

I think India was the only controversial character but not that controversial and after she went it the ratings went down. I think this series would have rated higher if they were more controversial stuff going on and bigger characters. But some say some of the viewers are from Courtney's fans.

supertv247 03-02-2018 02:07 PM

The main reason this series rated so badly is because of overexposure, then along with a massively risky twist that turned thousands away before it even started. The housemates were really good, but maybe a step too far in the other direction from what viewers are used to. The series however has proved that C5 can still pull off a well polished and greatly empowering show if they want to. They just need to get the perfect mix next time

it was a good series for discussions and stuff which is what big brother is all about but that i think the cast could have been better. I think we got these discussions because of the theme so and it would have happened with any cast imo. A series needs to have memorable moments and i don't think this series had any other than I'M A WOMAN from India.

Gstar 03-02-2018 02:12 PM

In all respect to the producers they probably thought people like Ginuwine, Jess, Malika and Jonny would have delivered more. If that’s the case then, unlucky. But they still didn’t need to have so many irrels and then turn down people like Natalie Nunn?

supertv247 05-02-2018 03:37 PM

Week 4 officials are in, one more set to go to complete the series after this...

The series average so far is 1.92 million making it the 3rd least watched ever (CBB16 = 1.89 and CBB20 =1.80)

Overnights are in brackets

Mon - 1.92m (1.41)
Tue - 1.61m (1.20)
Wed - 1.97m (1.47)
Thu - 1.93m (1.46)
Frid - 1.83m (1.46)
Frid - 1.37m (943k)
Sat - 1.63m (1.00)
Sun - 1.88m (1.35)

That second Friday show pulled the week average down more than 600k :skull: split shows need to go

Behind the Scenes averaged 720k which is more than any episode of BOTS has had in 3 years

Jodie. 05-02-2018 03:40 PM

Omg not a Winter CBB averaging the same as BB14

Greg! 05-02-2018 03:47 PM

Screaming

Greg! 05-02-2018 03:47 PM

At least it beat CBB20

supertv247 05-02-2018 03:48 PM

I'm telling you I think this year will be the year BBUK starts dominating over CBB again..

Apparently it peaked at 3m, I believe somewhere in the 8:30 - 9:00 slot as well, so maybe earlier starts and clashing with showd like corrie may not be too bad.

BBUK-Fan 05-02-2018 04:48 PM

I think civilian BB could be a real hit if promoted correctly

BBUK-Fan 05-02-2018 04:48 PM

I think the housemates were great but we need more controversial characters
