they are all career politicians. The only thing that is important to them is furthering their careers. Why is anyone surprised that they are missing in action

MTVN 27-08-2022 07:15 AM

This summer of inaction has been the most damaging thing to happen to the Tory party in the last few years, much worse than any of Boris' scandals

Bojo should shoulder the blame, he is still the PM...rocking up in Ukraine the other day but has not taken the time to address the nation, this situation is as serious as covid if not more so as it affects everyone, he should have used that new media room he spent millions on to address the nation, and he should have brought Truss and Sunak with him and to take questions from the media

Everyone keeps talking about the huge energy costs - rightly so.

But people are forgetting about price rises. As well as more help with paying for our energy, the government MUST give more money to the poor to pay for food.

NOW.:fist:

Russia is burning over £8m worth of gas each day because, according to Germany's ambassador to the UK "they have nowhere else to sell it"

I wonder how close we will be to rioting before we get to the end of the year. I lived through the thatcher era and what we are about to face in the next couple of years is much worse than that, which to me is the only similar circumstance we have had

Germany is now keeping their 3 Nuke Power stations running,
Massive U turn.

Just genuinely worried. I can't pay my bills now let alone in October then whenever it goes up next year. It's all getting on top of me. Will they cut it off if I can't afford it?

Yes the New PM
in 10 days
Will set it all up.

Strictly Jake 27-08-2022 11:04 AM

Like it's my fault for not saving up even though we were told it would happen. But I'm not joking even at the moment I'm relying on emergency credit on my electric meter every week. So yeah I'm screwed

i think you are being overly optimistic Arista. Truss won't be helping those that are struggling the most, because she doesn't see them as the people who would vote for her

I am not expecting much. Probably about £150.

Gusto Brunt 27-08-2022 01:35 PM

My friend just told me she had just £5 to spend on food last week after paying her July/August electric bill that was £101.61. That's four weeks' electric. In SUMMER.

She had to borrow £10, because £5 just wasn't enough. Even so, £15 food budget for seven days is just insane.

This is all a living nightmaree. :(
