the support/endorsement thing is a farce. It's always tied to a future cabinet position if the candidate then wins, they dont give a crap about whether they are best for the job or not

That was actually a bonus for Corbyn and Labour as Theresa May very nearly took the Cons out of power. As a Labour member, I now don't fear any of these candidates. Truss can't be trusted at all in my view. Mordaunt is more and more looking like a Theresa May style probable leader. Only one I think who has any kind of real political integrity now is Tom Tugendhat. In the last 7 years the Cons have had 3 general elections, and we are now heading for the 4th different Prime Minister in that time. With 3 different PMs in the last 3 years alone from 2019. None of that screams consistency, continuity OR even competence. In my view. |
It's strong and stable Joey

Lord Frost, the former Brexit chief negotiator, has told Talk TV he would have "grave reservations" about Penny Mordaunt becoming Prime Minister.
Citing his time working alongside her during the Brexit negotiations, when Mordaunt served as his junior, Lord Frost said she "wasn't fully accountable or always visible". "To be honest, I'm quite surprised she is where she is in this race. She was my deputy - notionally more than really - in the Brexit talks last year," he said. "I'm sorry to say this, she did not master the necessary detail in the negotiations last year. She wouldn't always deliver tough messages to the European Union when that was necessary and I'm afraid she wasn't fully accountable or always visible. Sometimes I didn't even know where she was." "I'm afraid this became such a problem that after 6 months I had to ask the PM to move her on and find somebody else to support me." "From the basis of what I saw, I would have grave reservations." Oh dear, she's not coming over too well. I'm pleased neither Rees-Mogg or Dorries introduced her. Not really saying much though is she. Why do politicians of all Parties not just spell things out factually and stop talking to voters like they are still in a classroom. |
