I don't think Michael would want fans killing themselves, he'd want them to be listening and dancing to his music and celebrating his life, wouldn't he?

Lauren 28-06-2009 12:09 AM

Yeah, it's real nice when we see clips of MJ flash mobs, people just having a nice time and enjoying his music.

Yep, he wouldn't have wanted any of this grief caused over him, knowing him as an entertainter, he would have probably wanted the opposite, for people to enjoy this, despite everything bad that happened n his life.

Completely agree with everything you said, he'd want people to be happy and rejoice and love his music!

Wish people would stop spreading fake MJ stories, they know who they are.

(The story I am referring to is that "Evan Chandler" came out saying he was never touched by MJ and had lied.

1. Evan is the father. It's Jordan the kid. So that's wrong.
2. The story is false. It's just a fake blog entry, it's slanderous and wrong.
3. By telling people about it, you're tarnishing the image of someone who may well have been abused).

But most of all, by posting this fake story you're tarnishing the memory of MICHAEL. He won't want to be remembered for that story, and he especially won't want fake stories resurrecting the memory of it.

I'm not talking about people who don't know it's fake, but I've seen another member on here telling people it's real, when they've been shown that its fake.

Anyway, I felt I needed to post that because its really making this whole thing bitter.

Show Goes On: Beyonce Leads Jackson Tributes

It's one of the biggest nights in the calendar for America's black stars - and tonight's running order has been ripped up and recreated after the sudden death of Michael Jackson.

Performers at the Black Entertainment TV Awards, including Beyonce, Wyclef Jean, and Ne-Yo, together with host Jamie Foxx, are all working in special tributes to the singing legend.

The live broadcast from Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium has been extended by half an hour to include last-minute unannounced guests who want to appear and pay their own respects to Jackson.

Singer Beyonce Knowles performed on Friday night in Philadelphia and visibly fought back tears before singing Jackson's song I Can't Help It.

"This is going to be hard for me... My hero passed away... I'm very grateful for the memories that I've had watching and listening to the genius Michael Jackson," she said.

One of the producers of tonight's BET awards, which honour African-American achievements in music, film and sports, admitted the show was having to undergo a "total overhaul".

"It has been planned and rehearsed for the last six months. So to change it all in less than three days is not easy, but they are all willing and looking forward to it," said Stephen Hill.

"There is a direct line from Beyonce to Michael Jackson, from Ne-Yo to Michael Jackson, from Jay-Z to Michael Jackson. They will want to pay tribute," he added.

Sean 'P Diddy' Combs and Vanessa Williams are expected to be among the guests at the venue, which has previously hosted the Oscars and the Grammy Awards.

Performers and audience members at this weekend's Glastonbury Festival also paid tribute to Jackson's contribution to the world of music.

That sounds really great!

MissKittyFantastico 28-06-2009 01:43 PM

Really can't wait to see the BET awards....anyone know what channel it will be shown on?

Mrluvaluva 28-06-2009 02:29 PM

I can't find them on the BET channel on SKY (191)?

I think there are some live streaming sites on the net though.

BOSSChick 28-06-2009 02:32 PM

I`ve lost respect for Big Brother; can`t help but be angry about them not telling the housemates.

BET Awards 4th July. in the UK.
Channel 191.

Shaun 28-06-2009 02:51 PM

So appropriate :\

To be fair, I'm sure Siavash would rather hear about the current climate in Iran over a celebrity dying, since it directly affects him. Similarly, other news would be deemed more important for other HMs too - we can't put a value on news. Considering this, it's a very subjective decision if they were to tell them about MJ, but not Iran. And therefore where are they expected to draw the line about which news to tell them?

They're going to find out eventually, few weeks at most .

Following what Lauren said, which is right, there is also important news that people want to know - maybe over MJ dying. It's not exactly going to affect their lives, but something in Iran or something would affect Siavash's, for example...

Alf 28-06-2009 03:01 PM

it didnt take janet long to get in to his home with her removal vans.

BOSSChick 28-06-2009 04:09 PM

Not even.

Personally, I feel strong about it.

It`s an historic moment to me.
MJ wasn`t just a celeb.
He was a legend. a trendsetter. an idol.

If I was in that house & they failed to tell me.

omg.

I`d be angry as hell.

But whatever.
People are always quick to water down his achievements.
Tarnish his name. 'celeb'. no Cheryl Cole is a celeb.

BB are idiots=]

I'm not "tarnishing his name" as you say.

I just think that beyond the initial shock and upset, it won't directly impact their lives, whereas the upheaval in Iran WILL, and I'm sure with a choice, Siavash would rather hear about that. With that subjectivity arising, I can see BB made the right choice.

They knew by going in the BB house, they'd have a media blackout. They accepted that, so whether they're angry for not being told or not?... They signed up for it.

BOSSChick 28-06-2009 04:12 PM

&&; why aren`t BB telling all the housemates about Iran.
Farrah Fawcett.
Michael Jackson.

Certain things need to be prioritised over entertainment.

I hope a helicopter flies over & tell the housemates.

BB10 is crap anyways .. I only watch it in hope it`ll improve.

Lauren 28-06-2009 04:14 PM

^ I do understand your point, but if they're going to tell them SOME news, then it could be argued why they're not telling them other stuff that may bear relevance to them. They signed up to the show knowing they won't be told of big news, so I guess they'll have to wait til they're out before they hear it.

I understand what your saying.

100%.

It`s just that feelings should go over rules.

No, MJ dying won`t mean they`ll commit suicide.

But It did affect me; personally.
So has the Iran electons.

So, why did BB allow them to see Barack`s speech ?

Double standards or what ..
