I've heard him sing this Leonard Cohen piece live with a mini orchestra behind him. Amazing. This is too though.

Was I the only one who really loved this film? Just a very well made and intelligent romantic comedy.

setanta 14-08-2010 04:10 AM

No comparison. And some people have said to me that Potts is better. Pff.

setanta 14-08-2010 04:24 AM

I know I'll be hated for this, but I think she's flawless really. Maybe too quiet, but still.... she's incredible.

Always loved the original love theme from Spartacus, and the jazzy cover version ain't too bad either.

It is very interesting comparison.
Yes the original is specially beautiful.

But somewhere in Wales, our car broke down and never tried again since. One day,,,,,.)

That must have been great fun. It's unusual to see Irish music played on an end-blown flute. I wonder what they call that particular flute.

Some different varieties of flute

The shakuhachi

The bansuri

The kena

The Western recorder

The Western transverse flute/concert flute

Sea of Spring (haru no umi)

Shakuhachi was mentioned. I will post some of the music.

Loving that cheerful little piece.

Oh, and David, it was just a regular old tin whistle he was playing in that Planxty clip.
