I don't think people were laughing at his every word last year - most were furious about his rule break and rightly so.

People are now furious about these latest rule breaks but I don't think anyone thinks he is the second coming. Most people know he is a dangerous man who was once in a position of power and has an axe to grind. He says he will swear on oath that he is telling the truth and has other witnesses. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

He was ridiculed not least for claiming his 30 minutes drive was to test his eyesight

How can he swear on oath after all those supposedly ridiculous claims he made last year ..

I actually felt he was rather harshly treated but that’s not for debate here

I just think it’s hypocritical for all the MPs and media who ridiculed Cummings when it suited them SUDDENLY believe his every word ( now it suits them )

Its equally as hypocritical of Boris to say he believed his lies last year and now swear he's telling lies as it makes him look bad.

All politicians peddle the same things - bull****, lies and denial.

bots 19-01-2022 01:58 PM

cummings is a proven liar, Boris is a proven liar. It doesn't mean they don't speak the truth sometimes

I think the difference this time is that there has been proof of the parties this time that backs up what cummings has been saying

bots 19-01-2022 02:02 PM

just as an aside. They need 54 letters or something to force a vote of no confidence, but they then need more than 50% of tory mp's to pass that vote and force a leadership election. So they need close on 100 mp's voting against boris to force a leadership election and they are no where close to that threshold

That’s always been the case though..

I’m currently ploughing through The Tudors tv series and the same greed , hypocrisy, ineptitude and corruption was on show back in those days - so many parallels.

It’s odd that the media are going all out on the booze problem in politics when the very same problem runs deep through our society at all levels.

:)

I know I’m probably a lone voice in giving Boris the benefit of the doubt but seriously ... I would have taken myself away from politics for a while for this reason alone - yet he chose to fight through all this nonsense .

To be fair Zizu...he could have asked earlier you have no idea if he did. Asking during PMQs is not the time, the public where unaware then and so it's not Starmers place to ask a question in a public televised area like that.
