I hope Boris appreciates how much work her Bar manager has had to do during her absence. I think you should be putting in for a rise Kaz.
Word has got to me kaz and i will definately put you forward for a pay rise.
I can't sanction it myself because I am in the process of a 'take over'.

I hope the ambiance of the bar does not change. 'They' have promised to keep on all staf so your jobs are not in jepardy.

Look out for this sign.....

BusyBee 10-03-2004 07:15 PM

Boris how could you contemplate a take-over - at least you could have thought about a management buy out rather than defect to the opposition.!!!!!!

Anyway have just delivered what is left of my birthday cake. OH put two candles on it - he said if I had the right number I would need to have the fire brigade on standby. NOW that would have been a good idea :thumbs::hello::hello:

Am just about to go out with some friends so I have put some money behind the bar for anyone who calls in tonight. I'll be in tomorrow night to have a birthday plus one day party. Anyone want to join me???

See you all later for the party. All invited - I think the day after your birthday party could get to be a national institution!!!!

Will be spending time preparing the nibbles when I finish my day's toil at work. Any requests - I make a mean quiche - well this might come from Asda today due to shortness of time.:blush:

Amy 11-03-2004 07:57 PM

I see the karaoke has arrived

Who is going to be first then? Had a copy of Leaders of the Pack - the very best of the 60s girls - so I've been practising all day. Need a couple to help me with Leader of the Pack (my two best friends usually join me on this when we go to 60s/70s week-end). Preferably someone who can sing.

Anyway to start me off - one champagne cocktail please.

Kaz 11-03-2004 09:37 PM

Sorry, BusyBee - can't sing, as you know very well from the TiBB Convention!

However, I can serve you up a champagne cocktail . . . . . . . . . . . .

Cheers, m'dear - hope you had a VERY happy birthday.

OOOh!!!! I've never done this kareoke stuff. Don't think it's quite the thing for a Duchess but I never was one for following convention.
Can I join in please?

BusyBee 12-03-2004 01:10 PM

Perhaps we could do it on a regular basis - though perhaps Boris would lose all her customers. Still if they drank enough they may even think we were good.

Sticks 12-03-2004 06:45 PM

Here is a link to Mitchells & Butlers who own Harvester inns

It looks like the coffee bar will be looking for a new venue as I doubt they will want a shop in a shop set up as we are :bawling:

Also the refurbishment has reached my main room and tomorrow I will be having to disconnect my PC. I am told I won't be off for more than a day, but one can not get over the feeling that I could be gone longer. I am told I am paranoid and just a prophet of doom (Sorry Life Changes Presentation consultant).

BusyBee 12-03-2004 08:05 PM

Dont worry Sticks - whatever happens we will insist on finding a space for your coffee shop - after all its getting quite a reputation now.

Sticks 13-03-2004 09:43 PM

I am back on line :hello:

The refurbishment of my flat past another phase

And I have a new computer desk.

New pictures will be available in due course.

I do not know how far the takeover by Harvester is, but the heavys sent to the coffee shop a note about how they considered the coffe shop a separate enterprise and advised Sticks Bucks to contact the business link about advice on new premises.

How far along is Kaz's management buy out coming along, although I suspect the mega corp will win out as they always do

Get you cappuchinos and Irish coffee while you still can :bored:

BusyBee 14-03-2004 03:06 PM

Good to see you back - now the re-organisation following the re-furbishment - that will keep you busy.

Kaz 19-03-2004 08:25 PM

Blimey - it's sure been quiet in here the last few days!

What's the matter? All given up for Lent or something? :spin2:

Anyway, seeing as it's Di's birthday today, it'll be Happy Hour between 9.30 and 10.30 p.m. - and the first round's on me!
