I'm a big fan. She's sexy as feck and can really sing.

I think that it's thankfully opened up the eyes of those who still had her down as a gimmick

I still think she IS a gimmick, she's got the voice of a cabaret-broadway star, not a pop star. Hats off to her though, I hope this gives her career a much needed boost, she's a very talented lady.

I more meant a gimmick and only a gimmick, but I see what you mean. I'm glad that she's branched from pop for a bit and done what she wants to, she seems really happy and content. This is one her best vocal performances in recent years and I hope she continues the trend with more 'Speechless'-like ballads.

Smithy 23-02-2015 08:03 PM

Greg I'm curious as to how you think she's a gimmick?

I dunno how to express it, like her voice sounds like it was made for musicals and stage shows; not pop songs - but she's obviously a very good pop star. I guess I think her gimmick is sounding like a cabaret singer

Is it me or does BTW get a lot of unwarranted/bandwagon hate? It's such an amazing album and broke a lot of records for Gaga

It does indeed, how anybody can prefer Artpop to it is confusing.. Literally all of the songs are 7/10 +

Of course The Fame Monster remains her best but BTW is a close second

Imo, it's easily her worst album, it's dull and repetitive, I much preferred ARTPOP

Jake. 24-02-2015 05:22 PM

Applause, DWUW, G.U.Y, Dope, Gypsy and Aura are all great, but pretty much the rest is decent/average

Daniel. 24-02-2015 05:29 PM

Venus and Donatella >>>>

Jake. 24-02-2015 05:31 PM

Donatella is awful

Well when she was at school whenever she tried do sing they told her she was too theatre, and whenever she tried out for theatre they always told her that her voice was too pop, so she just went with what she had, which is why she brings so many theatrics to her voice

And re; BTW & ARTPOP, BTW is the better more cohesive album, but ARTPOP's still a fun album full of bops :dazzler:

:clap1: The only bad thing about TFM is that she isn't going to top it

Gstar 24-02-2015 07:00 PM

@Smithy omg, that's pretty amazing

Samm 24-02-2015 07:11 PM

BTW is amazing, I love it's dark style

Gstar 25-02-2015 12:48 AM

TFM is just... I can't even explain how amazing that album is. Easily her best album.

A US news anchor has apologised after using a racially offensive term about Lady Gaga when covering the Oscars ceremony.

Fox 8 news anchor Kristi Capel told co-presenter Wayne Dawson that she was impressed by Lady Gaga’s tribute to the Sound of Music, but added: “It’s hard to really hear her voice with all the jigaboo music that she does, or whatever you want to call it. She has a gorgeous voice – I never knew!”

“Jigaboo” is a racially offensive term that has been used against African Americans, particularly in the early years of the last century.

Capel took to Twitter to apologise, saying she was not aware of the meaning of the term and expressing “deep regret”:

However, some Twitter users were unconvinced by Capel’s explanation:

Capel responded to one of her critics on Twitter, saying she “didn’t know the meaning behind it or that it was even a word”:

However, this further apology did not satisfy those offended by her language:

The head of her station, Andy Fishman, also apologised for Capel’s language, telling the Cleveland Plain Dealer: “She didn’t even know what the word meant, which is not an excuse. We’ve spoken to her about this, and we’re confident it won’t happen again. From here, we’ll handle it internally.”

Fishman said Capel would not be taken off air and would be back at the channel on Tuesday morning.

WJW Channel 8 is a Fox affiliate station based in Cleveland, Ohio.
