Corrie is missing the shady dealers (Danny and Charlie)
We need some new ones, Jimmy could become a bigger character if they let him

yeh he could be quite good i think..

and with soaps i like the people who everyone is a bit scared or worried to say things to characters like that tend to have alot of emotion to ..

Scarlett. 08-01-2009 11:53 PM

Yeah, Corrie needs a new hard guy, the last big one was Jez Quigley, who was pretty scary

30stone 08-01-2009 11:54 PM

He was a drug dealing scumbag, he got Leanne Battersby hooked and smashed up the Rovers
He set the dogs on Steve and got his cronies to kick the **** out of him, and a lot more

In the end a punctured lung killed him (done by Jim McDonald)

30stone 08-01-2009 11:58 PM

CORRIE: KILLER TONY IN CRACK-UP

GRIEVING Maria Connor calls a truce with her husband’s killer after discovering he is on the brink of a breakdown.

Maria, who has been hell-bent on nailing Tony Gordon for arranging Liam’s death, is stunned to discover he has plunged into depression.

Tony – played by Gray O’Brien, 40 – hits the bottle when wife Carla (Alison King, 35) leaves him after becoming suspicious about his involvement in Liam’s death.

In scenes to be screened next month Maria (Samia Smith, 25) turns up at the grave on the day she and Liam would have celebrated their first wedding anniversary.

As she changes the flowers and gently places a picture from the latest scan of their unborn baby onto the grave, she lovingly whispers to Liam: “Happy wedding anniversary darling.”

But then she becomes freaked out when Tony appears behind her in a drunken and dishevelled state.

He is genuinely apologetic that he has disturbed Maria at the grave and tells her: “I’m really sorry Maria. I thought you’d have been and gone by now. I just wanted to pay my respects.

“I am so sorry Maria‚ for all of us. You two should be having a candlelit dinner celebrating 12 great months together.

“As God is my witness Maria, I really wish Liam was alive and kicking and your baby had a father.

“I wish that Carla had loved me instead of loving Liam. I’d have even settled for being third best.”

Maria can see Tony is sincere and as they stand together by Liam’s grave she says: “I can picture him in there you know.

“His perfect little face, his hands folded across his chest, that gorgeous kink in his hair and that cute little mole on his back.”

Tony offers to look after Maria and her baby financially, even though she knows he paid for Liam to be killed in a hit-and-run.

A soap insider said: “The thawing of the relationship between Maria and Tony will be another intriguing twist in the continuing saga of justice for Liam.

“Tony’s feelings of guilt and remorse will also get worse as it fully sinks in just how much hurt and heartache he’s caused by having Liam killed.”

Maria (Samia Smith) is in a terrible state. She can’t get anyone to believe her allegations about Tony (Gray O’Brien) and when she finally gets to talk to the police they have already been approached by Carla (Alison King) over Maria attacking Tony. They advise Maria that if she continues to harass Tony she’s be in serious trouble. Devastated she leaves the police station and heads home but as she rounds the corner into Coronation Street she sees Tony crossing the road and her hatred for the man she believes killed her husband bubbles to the surface. She puts her foot down and drives straight at him.

Sally (Sally Whittaker) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) assure Sophie (Brooke Vincent) that they love her and apologises for the way they have sidelined during all their problems with Rosie (Helen Flanagan). Rosie makes disparaging remarks about her sister but Sophie is having none of it and gives as good as she gets.

Ken (William Roache) arrives back from Portsmouth without Peter and explains to Leanne (Jane Danson) and Blanche (Maggie Jones) that Peter had had to go into rehab. Blanche has no sympathy for Peter and his problems but Leanne is concerned and agrees to look after the bookies and stand by him.

Eileen (Sue Cleaver) is amused when she spots Gail (Helen Worth) and Anna (Debbie Rush) rowing in the street. Meanwhile Gary and Len congratulate themselves on the all round success of the copper piping scam. Eddie Windass (Steve Huison) however is dumbstruck when Kirk (Andrew Whyment) tells him that he has managed to arrange for them to join another darts team.

This episode is written by Mark Burt and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is Stuart Davids.

PI for the rest of the week follows:

Monday 26 January 8.30pm

It’s mayhem on the street as Maria (Samia Smith) sits dazed in the crumpled wreck of her car and Tony (Gray O’Brien) lies on the cobbles. Kevin (Michael Le Vell) rushes to Maria’s aide whilst Carla (Alison King) is relieved to discover that Tony is conscious. The emergency services are called and Tony and Maria are taken to hospital. The enormity of what she has done hits home to Maria and she waits with baited breath to see if she has harmed her unborn child. Meanwhile the police warn her that she could be facing an attempted murder charge if it is proved that she tried to run Tony over on purpose.

A cocky Gary Windass (Mikey North) suggests to Tina (Michelle Keegan) that David (Jack P Shepherd) tried to frame him for the robbery because he is jealous and worried that Tina fancies him. Later in the pub David is devastated when he hears Tina telling Jason (Ryan Thomas) that she isn’t sure Gary is guilty.

Desperate to escape the problems at home, Ken (William Roache) takes Eccles for a long walk by the canal but when the dog falls in and Ken tries to rescue him he finds a good Samaritan in the form of the charming Martha Fraser (Stephanie Beacham), who invites him to dry out in the warmth of her canal boat.

Elsewhere Eileen (Sue Cleaver) is surprised to discover that Julie (Katy Cavanagh) is in fact the daughter of one of her old school friends and Sophie (Brooke Vincent) comes home from swimming in a bad mood but won’t tell Sally (Sally Whiattaker) why.

Wednesday 28 January 7.30pm

The police question Tony (Gray O’Brien) about Maria (Samia Smith) running him down suggesting that she may have been trying to kill him but, to Carla’s fury and dismay, Tony insists that he didn’t see a thing and it was an accident. Later Tony has a surprise for everyone when he brings Jed Stone (Kenneth Cope) to the pub – after first making sure he covers the ligature marks on his neck. Maria feels foolish when Tony asks her to come to the pub to meet someone. Carla (Alison King) however is not convinced when Tony tells her he set Jed up in a new home after feeling bad about buying his old house and when she later sees Tony frogmarching Jed to his car, and apparently threatening him, her suspicions are aroused even more.

Blanche (Maggie Jones) and Leanne (Jane Danson) continue to work alongside each other in the betting shop in Peter’s absence with Blanche (Maggie Jones) even conceding that she likes Leanne (Jane Danson) and thinks she is good for Peter.

Norris (Malcolm Hebdon) and Mary (Pattie Clare) are delighted when they jointly win a motor home in a competition. Mary suggests that they get some use out of their prize and enjoy a few days away in Southport.

Elsewhere David (Jack P Shepherd) congratulates himself after managing to ruin Gary’s (Mkey North) date with Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan).

This episode is written by David Lane and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is Stuart Davids.

Friday 30 January 7.30pm

It’s war between David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Gary Windass (Mikey North). Gary speaks to Jason (Ryan Thomas) who fills him in on some interesting information about David’s history and all the scrapes he’s been involved in. Armed with some serious ammo he sets about trying to wind David up and succeeds despite Tina (Michelle Keegan) begging David to ignore his childish antics. After suffering a day of antagonism David finally flips and punches Gary – a brawl ensues and Tina tries to stop it but Gary gets the better of David and knocks him to the ground.

Ken (William Raoche) takes Eccles for another walk along the canal and once more bumps into Martha (Stephanie Beacham) who invites him for lunch on the barge. He discovers that she is appearing in a local production of A Streetcar Named Desire and asks him if he would mind helping her with her lines. As Ken sits enraptured it is clear that Martha is worlds away from his problems back in Weatherfield.

Maria (Samia Smith) calls at the factory to apologise to Tony (Gray O’Brien) for wrongly accusing him of killing Liam but Carla (Alison King) is intrigued when Maria can’t resist a dig about Tony evicting the old man. Later Carla decides to pay Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) a visit to try and find out exactly what went on and she’s surprised by what Emily has to say.

Elsewhere Janice (Vicky Entwistle) gets the shock of her life when she sneaks out of the hospital for a crafty fag with her new mate Mike (Antony Bessick).

This episode is written by Jayne Hollinson and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is Stuart Davids.

Friday 30 January 8.30pm

David (Jack P Shepherd) is in a bad way lying on the pavement as Tina (Michelle Keegan), Eddie (Steve Huison) and Anna (Debbie Rush) try to pull Gary (Mikey North) off him before he does any more damage. David is taken to hospital in an ambulance and asks Tina to lie for him and say that Gary threw the first punch. Meanwhile Anna and Eddie berate Gary for the assault and warn him that he could go down. But when Gail (Helen Worth) tells Anna that Gary is a mindless brute she sticks up for him and insists David is a liar.

Carla (Alison King) decides it is time she got some answers of her own so she pays Jed (Kenneth Cope) a visit in Wigan and takes him out for lunch. As she plies him with alcohol she quizzes him about Tony (Gray O’Brien) and when he takes off his scarf she notices the marks on his neck. She asks him if they have anything to do with Tony and his silence speaks volumes.

Janice (Vicky Entwistle) is surprised when she gets a visit from Mike’s wife Laura. Laura thanks her for being such a good friend to Mike and being there when he died. Janice is moved by her words and tells Leanne (Jane Danson) that Mike’s death has made her think seriously about her own future.

Elsewhere Norris (Malcolm Hebdon) and Mary (Pattie Clare) decide to try and make some money by renting out their motor home.

This episode is written by Lucy Gannon and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is Stuart Davids.
