Ended up having to get a masectomy. shes strong though, it doesnt appear to bother her much. I would be a total mess if it was me.

My mum and dad have got back together through it all though. Ever cloud and that. :)

It's when your breast is xrayed to see if there are any parts that might have cancer.

One of my closest friends is awaiting results of a biopsy - they want to remove whatever the lumps are regardless - could be as quick as next week. Not good.

I've a few females friends, older and younger who have been affected by breast cancer: it's worrying how common it is.

Thanks Ammi. You'll 'know' who it is (so to speak), I often referred to her in pms. She's putting the big brave face on but she's not doing a good job of hiding her worry. The docs are 'sure' lumps are benign - not that that is a reassurance till she gets the results.

I'd like to do something in honour of my mum. Like a sponsored walk maybe?

I find that the person who has the cancer is the one who puts the brave face on to protect others ,esp family ,hope she goes on ok xxx

That's true. I would do the same if it was me. You don't want your family to worry. :(

Ive been there ,and it is exactly what I did, while crumbled inside, but you protect your family

Looks like my mum also kept it a secret from everyone. I think she knew she was sick, but didn't want us to worry. :sad:
