I think white people find it harder to understand the severity of racism than us black people do. I swear I hear at least one white person a day use the N word without knowing I can hear them.

One time I confronted someone over it and they replied "oh, I didn't mean to offend you and your people, one of my best friends is Asian". smh.

I'm not black :p

My life would have been so different if I'd married shakin stevens ...

smeagol 02-12-2013 08:10 PM

people label falsely and tag everything these days. its like the health and safety gone mad.
i find it really sad really.

everybody wants to be a victim otherwise they are just ordinary like everybody else.
thats why you see people so quick around here to attack.

To be some kind of people -phobe or -ist you have to hate them and be afraid of them. Somebody using the N word or somebody referring to something as 'gay' is maybe a little bit ignorant but they're just words...

Mel Gibson is an anti-Semite. He hates Jewish people. This is well documented. There's a difference between the kind of unjustifiable hatred in that man's heart and somebody referring to somebody as a "******" or something.

What you and Vicky said. They remain significant issues here but are nowhere near as prominent as they often get painted out as.

And I've never understood the 'gay' thing. I know it's a sensitive thing but when people refer to things as that they're usually on about it being rubbish and the like. Maybe there's something behind it I dunno but for me it depends on the context.

Eminen's new album is an example. :p

I disagree Greg.. Words like ****** and **** aren't just words. Over time the have become extremely derogatory terms synonymous with racism. I personally feel very insulted when anybody uses those words in front of me.

King Gizzard 02-12-2013 08:28 PM

it's not necessarily controversial and it's a bit boring for this thread but Daniel Radcliffe is the worst actor I have ever witnessed

Shame cus he's a nice and funny guy in interviews

Ninastar 02-12-2013 08:28 PM

I agree with Zee/Vicky.

I don't like the "gay" thing either.. It's immediately giving the word negative connotations. Young people assume gay is a bad thing.

MeMyselfAndI 02-12-2013 08:32 PM

I find Katie Hopkins hilarious
and Lord of the rings sucks

Are we talking about the word beginning with N? I have seen it plenty of times on here.

Glenn. 02-12-2013 08:38 PM

I can honestly say I have never seen the N word used on here.

I'm sure it is or was in someone's user profile...not in an offensive way though

Kyle 02-12-2013 08:39 PM

Wow. I have seen it underneath people's names and in music threads.

Vicky. 02-12-2013 08:40 PM

Apparently theres a difference between using the N word, and using *****.

Personally I dont understand why anyone would want to use it either way, but thats besides the point

King Gizzard 02-12-2013 08:41 PM

There is a difference between the two N words and a difference between it's meaning, it's about context

The one you see on here is the reclaimed word, which isn't meant to cause offence, no one has used the er version on here

A bit like when people of the Gay community use once derogatory words to try and reclaim them and soften them

smeagol 02-12-2013 08:41 PM

the n word should be banned worldwide. but if rappers want to use it and dont mind using it then i dont see how they can complain when others use it.
it sets a bad example, people either have a problem with it or they dont.
its a bit nuts dont you think

Jake. 02-12-2013 08:43 PM

Didn't ever realise there was a difference between the two apart from poor grammer lol
