The whole show is awful at the moment. The teens are everywhere! The SU, Chez Chez, The Dog, Coffee shop. Seems like all the older characters do is babysit the teens these days. Looks like they'll be dominating for a few more weeks now as well. The eps are all over the place as well and not many of the plots make sense of last long enough to develop or for people to even care.

There are no long term storylines which concerns me and the TPTB insist in keep putting Maddie in our faces and try to make us like her:bored:.

Hollyoaks star Rachel Shenton has said that her character Mitzeee Minniver and footballer Riley Costello are too scared to admit their feelings for each other.

The pair have had chemistry for some time and even shared a kiss last month, but have since been trying to ignore their spark.


Riley (Rob Norbury) has recently embarked on a casual relationship with Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan), while Mitzeee is about to be preoccupied with unwanted attention from her stalker.

However, Shenton told Soaplife: "She's in love with him and has been for ages, and I think he feels the same. But nothing is ever said - it's the elephant in the room. Perhaps they both fear rejection."

Mitzeee keeps quiet about her stalker ordeal next week to avoid worrying Riley, but later comes clean to him.

Shenton said: "She tells him and he's really sweet about it and says he'll be there for her."

Discussing the future of the stalker plot, she teased: "We'll see the stalking go to a whole new level. Until Mitzeee gets to a point where she arranges to meet the stalker."

Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox has said that the positive response to her character's recent miscarriage storyline was "overwhelming".

Viewers saw Nancy Osborne and husband Darren suffer the sad loss of their unborn child last month, throwing their marriage into turmoil.

Fox told This Morning today (April 26): "It went on for quite a long time when we were shooting - it was three or four weeks of quite intense stuff.

"But I was so excited, because it was some of the best scripts I've ever had. The way that it was written just felt really true, and it wasn't hard to conjure up that emotion."

She added: "[I've had] people stopping me on the street saying, 'You've told my story'. It's been overwhelming."

Ashley Taylor Dawson, who plays Darren, praised the soap's bosses for continuing to explore the story as the couple consider the right time to try for another baby.

He said: "It's very true to life and it's what people go through. It's nice that they're holding onto that and it doesn't just end there. It's an ongoing thing like any relationship, so it's just nice to do it justice. The feedback's been great."

Fox and Dawson are up for the 'Best On-Screen Partnership' prize at this year's British Soap Awards, which take place in London on Saturday (April 28).

Hollyoaks villain Emmett J Scanlan says actors are blessed because, fundamentally, they're being paid to do what kids do for fun.

The Irish actor, who was nominated for best actor at the British Soap Awards, told whatsontv.co.uk: "Essentially we just come on set and live in our own imagination and get to call this our job. We're living a job [that's] what kids do when they play cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians... and we get paid for it.

"We're very lucky. We're blessed."

Emmett was joined by new co-star Neil Newbon ('Walker') on the red carpet.
