Would be my main title matches. No idea on the rest of the show yet bar obviously the battle royals.

Shane vs Miz is a defo I think.

Dave Meltzer is saying Nia being in the match was to warm people to the idea of Intergender wrestling

But it wasn't done properly

You only had Chyna who could beat up a man where half the women now could outshine most the men

Oh Shane can bore off. They can have a match at Fast Lane instead.

I thought that PPV was really good! Granted, I only watched the Women's Championship matches and both rumbles, lmao.

Asuka vs. Becky took a little bit of time to get into, but the Becky hype was really cool (even though the crowd were 100% handed those mini signs). Obvious outcome, but still a good match nonetheless. Really set things up nicely for the remainder of the card. Becky is just so incredibly suited to her character, and I love Asuka being a champ.

Sasha vs. Ronda was probably my favourite match of the night. Really enjoyed how badass they both were and the constant submission switches (there's probably a better phrase for this but oh well, lmao) were really impressive. For a slight second, I thought Sasha was going to win, but Ronda winning was inevitable. Really glad this match happened because it proved what Ronda is capable of against a really, really, good opponent. Was ready for Sasha to go back and beat Ronda's arse after the handshake, though.

The women's rumble was good. I think the first half was better than the second. I really liked how full the ring become at one point. There were so many ****ing weird moments, though. The whole thing between Alicia and Maria was a choice and Hornswoggle appearing and chasing Zelina was bizarre. Lana limping to the ring was teeth-clenching but it obviously served a purpose. Can't disagree with Becky winning, but would've liked to have seen a better-produced showdown between the two of them. I mean god love them, they must have been exhausted but that final elimination was a tad anti-climatic.

I kind of skimmed through the men's rumble. It seemed objectively good, but I've never really gotten into the men's side of WWE. Nia coming through at the last minute was so unexpected. I was here for it! Gave me Chyna vibes. Seth's a good winner and he's one of my favourite male wrestlers so happy with that outcome.

Oh, and I did see glimpses of Brock vs. Finn. I thought it was good in terms of the narrative because one is so blatantly villainous while the other is the archetypical hero, so it wasn't too bad for a match that just ended up with Brock winning again. Finn's also one of my favourite's, so would've been cool to see him win but hopefully he'll get his chance to hold the title again at a later date.

adding onto this:

Literally had no idea Beth Phoenix was commentating until half-way through when Renee referenced her by name. That was so weird, lmao. ALSO, I've read through the thread and completely agree that the camerawork was off for the Rumble matches, especially the women's. I don't know whether I liked the set-up of the arena, but it was awkward how we'd miss some of the entrances when the camera was still on the ring. I did like how the ramp and long entrance path was reminiscent of the 1999 Rumble, though.

Intergender NEEDS to come back, it'd be so welcome.

When you've got like Nia, Ronda, Shayna, Asuka, Io, Candice LeRae (who only really wrestled men before coming to WWE), Sarah Logan (same goes for her, she's used to wrestling in Death Matches ffs) etc that can convincingly mix it up with the fellas it's needed.

LaLaLand 28-01-2019 06:24 PM

Re-watched both Rumbles today, much better on second watch.

Nia in the men's though was brilliant. She's also the first ever person to appear in two Rumbles on the same night, don't know if that'll ever happen again.

One thing it's made me realise though is that there's quite a few women who should be released tbh. There's a massive difference between "eras" and it's obvious when they're all together, some just need to go because they bring nothing.

Natalya, Dana, Alicia, Maria and Tamina spring to mind as girls who are "surplus to requirements". Mickie also isn't bringing anything to the table and that's not gonna change, they're not gonna start booking her well when they see her as pure enhancement talent.

LaLaLand 28-01-2019 06:32 PM

I'm also a bit in love

I'm sorry but I'm not having a bad word said about Alicia, Dana, or Tamina.

My underrated queens

Denver 28-01-2019 06:45 PM

Alicia shouldn't even be in a ring fullstop

Black Dagger 28-01-2019 06:46 PM

I am crying :joker::joker:

LaLaLand 28-01-2019 06:52 PM

Those two are bloody hilarious.

Billie ranting in her broad Aussie accent she's not getting in the ring when she came down "I'M NOT GOIN' IN!!!" :laugh2: and then Peyton bombing it to her rescue a few minutes later. So funny!

Braden 28-01-2019 06:54 PM

Yaaas @ Peyton breaking character and laughing at Billie :joker:

addendum:

Dean Ambrose is fine as ****.

LaLaLand 28-01-2019 10:17 PM

I read a rumour earlier on my phone online but I can't seem to find it now.

Anyway, it basically teased that the reason Cena was declared out of the Rumble was because he was solely there to put Lars Sullivan over to start their feud which would end at Mania. However, Lars is still "on the sick" so they pulled Cena from the match, replaced him with Braun and someone else had Sullivan's number.

Sullivan's future still totally up in the air and on today's WWE YouTube RAW preview, he's not featured as a call-up with the others in a "which brand will they sign with" segment.

Jordan. 29-01-2019 06:51 AM

The crowd were brutal on Ronda :skull: I feel like the best thing they can do now is have her destroy Becky at Mania then turn full on heel for 4 horsewomen match build
