Just read the ratings for Gossip Girl season 3 premire...i'm actually quite upset because i think 2.5 million is very low for a USA drama

Tom4784 17-09-2009 07:23 PM

Yay we're getting it earlier then usual!

MrGaryy 17-09-2009 07:24 PM

^yes it is down considerably, by almost 30% on the previous premieres, but I think it's just cos S2 was a bit of a mess. I'm confident ratings will pick up as it continues.

It's a digital channel though, not a terrestial channel like the big hitters are. 2.5 million is a good rating.

MrGaryy 17-09-2009 07:34 PM

^well it is a good rating for a cable channel, but not great for the show. the S2 premiere got 3.4 million. but w/e it's still nothing to worry about.

Beastie 17-09-2009 07:40 PM

I have not really watched gossip girl. Is it any good?

Don't be upset because it's great for the CW.

Moving to 9pm, GOSSIP GIRL Scores Its Best Ratings Since December in Key Demos September 15, 2009 (Burbank, CA) – GOSSIP GIRL continues to grow, as The CW’s addictive drama opened its third season by outperforming its year ago season debut in the network’s target demo of women 18-34 (3.4/9 v. 3.3/10), according to Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Monday, Sept. 14, 2009. Moving to a later hour this season, GOSSIP GIRL delivered strong demos in its new 9pm time period, scoring the show’s best women 18-34 (3.4/9), adults 18-34 (2.0/5) and women 18-49 (2.2/5) since Dec. 2008. GOSSIP GIRL also posted its largest audience (2.6mil) since Jan 2009. Competitively, GOSSIP GIRL won the 9pm time period among women 18-34 and women 12-34 (3.0/8). Jack Bass, devious uncle of Chuck Bass, is set to return to the show later this season, TV Guide reports, having spoken to actor Desmond Harrington.

"I will be back," says Harrington, who plays the character. "I think it's episode 15 or 16 where I show back up this year. It's fun playing Uncle Jack."

When we last saw Jack Bass, he tried to attack Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford), who took over Bass Industries for one-time stepson Chuck.

Jack was then sent packing back to Australia with a sore jaw after being punched by Chuck. What do you think brings him back to New York City?
