Cool! There's meant to be something Doctor Who related on Children in Need, hope it's a release date!

There always is. I doubt a release date. It will be a 1 minute scene of jodie whittaker meeting pudsey the bear and being overly excited about it. It will be cheesy as hell and the script will be as bad as the last series. So don't get your hopes up

I was one of the very few who loved season 11. I'm so excited for this to return, and hope the cast remains the same.

Doctor Who fans face a Christmas without their favourite show, with no festive special planned – for the second year running.

But there is some good news – the long-awaited 12th series is due to start on New Year’s Day, with one of the biggest episodes in the show’s history.

Insiders say the first instalment of a two-part story, starring Jodie Whittaker , is one of the most ambitious ever attempted.

A BBC One source said: “It’s going to be huge. The scale is just epic. No one will be disappointed.”

The second half of the story is then expected to air on January 4, as the series shifts back to its traditional Saturday evening teatime slot.

A festive special involving the Daleks is thought to have already been filmed – but it will not air until next Christmas or New Year.

Morgan. 20-11-2019 09:08 PM

Stephen Fry and Lenny Henry will Star in S12

Marsh. 20-11-2019 09:21 PM

So... is NYD episode 1 of 10 or is it counted as a separate special?

From what I’m hearing, it’s episode 1, with the series continuing on the 4th (as it’s a two parter)

Glenn. 21-11-2019 02:16 AM

So the Dalek ep isn’t til NEXT Christmas/Year?

Glenn. 21-11-2019 02:17 AM

Unless it’s the finale of S12?

Ah sorry, I misread the comment.

I don't think they've thought this through. What if Jodie Whittaker loses an eye before 2021? I mean SURE they could explain it away as the Doctor's regenerative abilities, but then it's missing again in the very next episode? Doesn't even make sense. MASSIVE plot hole.

Morgan. 22-11-2019 08:03 AM

Chibnall has said he’s already working on S13 and has suggested he and the current TARDIS Team will all return.

Yukk I haven't even watched 11 because I disliked them all so much in the first 3 episodes. I miss Doctor Who, I bloody loved the entire Tennant/Smith/Capaldi era, and frustratingly after all the worries about the gender change, I like Jodie Whittaker fine in the role... And yet the managed to wreck it with crap secondary characters and crap writing. Well done :hmph:.

Might be due a rewatch of Smith I think :hee:

Strictly Jake 24-11-2019 11:46 AM

Did you all see the trailer for the series before strictly last night...wow

Maybe she's leaving.

I doubt it. I reckon it's been filmed so far ahead either due to nicking this year's budget for next after cutting an episode or because 1 or more cast members are leaving so filming their last episode now means they can go off and not worry about remaining free next year to film one more special.
