I hate how Ben has had a personality transplant. I think he's a better actor, but he's too different from the old Ben. Same thing happened with Lauren Branning, she's way different to the old one. It's as if the producers think we are dumb enough to be able to forget a character's personality.

Kerry 14-12-2010 07:24 PM

I actually think Laurens ok. Still a moody little sh!t who can't stand up straight but Ben is ridiculous

Jords 14-12-2010 07:27 PM

Both new Ben and Lauren are completely different, its kinda stupid.

LOL at how Glenda has become the Square's bike when Ian and Phil are put under stress xD

It's vomit evoking

The whole "Aunty Glenda" thing is actually revolting. You'd think she'd have more class to succumb to such low depths as having sex with a relative.

Tom4784 14-12-2010 07:49 PM

I think the new Ben's an improvement in everyway, the change of personality is realistic really you wouldn't expect the character to come back into it with a musical number....well...not now  Lauren didn't have a personality before so the new her's an improvement too.

Eastenders has been in a lull recently but they're building up to the big stories and I have to say Christmas/New Year looks promising and from there on so it'll be back to it's best:).

Kerry 14-12-2010 08:00 PM

I've liked the lighter, funnier side of EE

That is proper cringey, dont know what the producers are thinking :/

Locke. 16-12-2010 12:07 AM

This whole new Ben thing is really the most cringeworthy thing I've ever seen on TV

Kerry 16-12-2010 12:09 AM

I actually knew someone who was mankin with his 'auntie' (through marriage aunt, like Phil)

It grossed me out then and does now

Kerry 16-12-2010 06:31 PM

Why's Jay all of a sudden in with Phil? He's Billy's ward

Kerry 16-12-2010 06:35 PM

Ewww They're off again

bbfan1991 16-12-2010 07:00 PM

I think Ben pushed Glenda:joker:.

Looks like Sonia is returning before Bianca leaves..

Liked Glenda tonight, even though her laying into practically everyone at the party was a bit OTT. Not a fan of Ronnie anymore so not happy to see her and Jack back and up to their usual tricks. New Ben sounds so different to the old one, not very fond of him at the moment. Loved the references from Kat and Alfie to Nana Moon, that's when I remember really loving the show, nice to know she's not forgotton.

I originally thought it was Peter who pushed Glenda but then the person picked up her ring and why would Peter want that for? So that makes me think it was Connor, becauce he could sell it off for a bit of cash although why he would push her down the stairs, I can't work out :conf:

It's a different actor, cut the producers some slack, they can't dub the old voice lol.
I loved the way Glenda looked at Heather "Where would I start?"

I know but old Ben used to have such an irritating childish voice and I find it hard to believe his voice could both break and completely change to "East End" in a matter of months.

Me too, Glenda's grown on me a lot lately.

Lewis. 16-12-2010 08:21 PM

I agree with your comments about Lauren. She's totally changed, too much for the show and I think that's the road that the producers are going down with the new Ben. I'm ashamed to say that I miss the old Ben quite a lot now.

His voice wasn't as deep as I expected. Kind of like Daniel Radcliffe's in the second Potter film, no longer "squeaky" but croaky rather than deep.
The accent is annoying though, it sounds as though the actor's trying too hard.

Former EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy is to make another appearance as Sonia Fowler in the New Year, Digital Spy can confirm.

In early 2011, fans will see Sonia return to Albert Square for one episode as she finds herself drawn into a new storyline centring around her half-sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).

Sonia's sudden reappearance in Walford comes after a huge confrontation between Carol, Whitney and Connor sees truths emerge over Connor's relationships with Bianca's mother and stepdaughter.

After events come to a head, Bianca mysteriously disappears from the Square - but Sonia's comeback sees her provide some answers to questions that Carol and Ricky have about the feisty mum's whereabouts.

A Walford insider revealed: "True to form, Bianca has got herself into big trouble while trying to protect her family and, scared about what might happen, she does a runner.

"When she suddenly goes missing, Sonia turns up unannounced and drops the bombshell that she knows where Bianca is and what she is going to do next."

Sonia's brief return will also see some other truths revealed as viewers discover what she and husband Martin have been getting up to away from Walford.

Cassidy's last appearance in EastEnders was in February, when Sonia attended Ricky and Bianca's wedding.
Very happy about Sonia returning, will be good to see her again, just a shame she isn't coming back full time although I could see that happening soon to be honest, she hasn't been in anything much since leaving has she?

Kerry 17-12-2010 12:04 AM

I don't like Sonia :(

Mix really. She only comes back for the cash and she can't act

Stacey. 17-12-2010 12:11 AM

I don't like Sonia either, but it'll be sort of good to see her again.

InOne 17-12-2010 10:32 AM

Glenda is such a feisty cougar

Wonder if they thought how ridiculous it looks Ian and Ben brothers all those years ago when Ian and Phil are like the same age lol
