That's actually so clever I love this game
|
That's actually reminded me about how I over analysed the times for the kitty 'feeding times' because they were all 8s or 9s minute wise so I thought this pointed towards Jamie being the killer because 89 :omgno:

What time do we need to be here this evening ?

I've had enough votes so I'll announce the results at half seven. I'm just finishing a nice news article on the events of the game.

Well, just starting it really but that's not the point.

There had not been any murders for weeks but the forum was still tense; everyone was waiting for the next thread from Pix to appear and they were hoping that they wouldn't be the subject of the thread. Eventually the members started to snap and went to extreme lengths to find the killer themselves by 'investigating' other members and messing with their lives and sabotaging their work, education and relationships. As the months passed, the original goal of finding the killer had been forgotten and members were now being targeted for the sake of it. Any guise of an investigation was soon dropped and the forum descended into full on witch hunts.
http://i.imgur.com/PkieBWt.png These witch hunts reached boiling point when several victims of them committed suicide, which had the effect of throwing the forum under national scrutiny. Unable to cope with the spotlight, the admin eventually shut down the forum. The killer was never brought to justice and only one person ever discovered the truth. |
I'm here ready for my surprise win

After being accused by the forum of being the killer, The_Watchman - otherwise known as Matthew - went on the run as he believed that the killer would target him next. Matthew decided to investigate the murders for himself from a safe distance. Attending the funerals of Alex and Kieran was a real eye-opener: the user known as 'Kelly' was a relatively popular 'girl' on the forum that was always rumoured to be involved in silly flings and dirty screenshots with the other male members - no pun intended. Yet his real identity and generally solid, supportive family network made Matthew suspect something. Why would he masquerade as his dead sister online? After trailing the investigation for a while, Matthew made the brave decision to break into Kelly's apartment in Dover. There, he eventually acquired Voyeur's laptop which was filled with powerful hacking programs that allowed him to investigate everyone on the forum. The apartment was rather immaculate; for someone struggling emotionally he kept himself incredibly clean and organised. A few family photographs littered his bedroom wall, but there were certainly no tell-tale signs you'd see in the movies; no map of the UK with crazy red strings connected to photographs of the victims, no mysterious locked trunk in the wardrobe, no kitchen knives missing. His suspicion of Kieran only intensified after reading a series of psych reports that Voyeur had hacked her way into. Kieran was mentally unstable and desperate for someone to blame for his sister's death; these feelings exploded into violence when Verona died. Living up to his username, The_Watchman tracked his internet history and saw that Kieran had read an article about Verona shortly before the murders started - this date happened to correspond with a particularly grisly thread on the ICB forum surrounding the death of a young woman in a car crash. On a quick glance of the victim's memorial page on Facebook you could even argue she looked like Kelly. Matthew believed this unfortunate coincidence may have been the switch that turned Kieran. He deducted that Kieran killed the forum members as an attempt to work through his own grief; if there wasn't anyone to blame for Kelly's death then he'd avenge Verona in her place. Matthew handed his findings to the police (but covered his tracks on the hacking front first) but they couldn't do anything about it as Kieran had already died in a suspected suicide. Upon discovering the truth, Matthew had planned to inform the forum... but after what they did to him, he decided to leave them to fester in their own paranoia. He never told them the truth and he moved on with his own life, but the incident had changed him forever and turned his heart cold. He would never truly trust another person again. |
Poor that

Verona's death was eventually ruled as a suicide after all. The discovery of another person's DNA under a fingernail on her corpse was deemed to be inconclusive and could just as easily have been that of her mother or father's. The media attention brought about by the BBC's coverage of her reopened case would drive a wedge between Verona's parents' marriage - and the eventual news sensation of the In Cold Blood forum and its bloody history would continue to make Verona a source of national debate. Tributes continue to pour in for the young victim of cyber-bullying, but some critics dispute that her case shouldn't infringe on freedom of speech and the right to roam online without censorship. We call those people heartless twats don't we, Milo Yiannopoulos? :) |

All votes have been received (well... except Josy and Livia's... but their decisions wouldn't affect the results.)
I will now announce where all five finalists have finished, in ascending order. Best of luck to all five, and another warm round of applause for not flopping and dying. :clap2: The finalist finishing in fifth place is... |
:worry: Good luck guys!
