Angus 11-05-2010 04:00 PM

This day just gets better and better - Gordon Brown is leaving as PM AND Leader at same time, so Labour will have Harriet Harman as Acting Leader of the OPPOSITION, and we get Cameron as PRIME MINISTER.

ITV1 has now gone to News Live.

Yesterday they did not.

Yes SkyNews HD
pointed out the Official 10 Downing St
Photographer went in.

Angus 11-05-2010 05:32 PM

Respect to those Labour backbenchers who had the moral decency to tell never elected Brown, Mandelson, Adonis and Campbell that they would NOT support any attempts to try and cling to power since that would have been the complete OPPOSITE of democracy. Seems the Labour Cabinet decisively voted against trying to muscle in on the winning party's talks with Clegg on the grounds that it would have been unconstitutional and against the national interests.

Pity they didn't do something about these four self-serving charlatans earlier. It's quite shocking how they were prepared to risk the stability of this country's government with their attempted coup to try and cling on to power.

arista 11-05-2010 05:36 PM

David Cameron was well aware of the Nick going to New Labour
as Nick used them to make it look official he tried all angles.

Clever move Nick.

World TV Loves a Cool Story.

I'll reserve judgment on the coalition till I know the terms of the deal, but come what may we now have a Conservative PM.

Scarlett. 11-05-2010 06:15 PM

A podium has been set up outside No.10, an announcement is expected imminently

Scarlett. 11-05-2010 06:20 PM

Gordon Brown is now gone, he says Cameron should now take over

Angus 11-05-2010 06:23 PM

Finally!

Spike 11-05-2010 06:26 PM

That was a very dignified speech by Brown. He went out well
I feel emotional that Labour's rule is over..for now

Jack_ 11-05-2010 06:39 PM

I'm no Brown fan, but that speech was somewhat moving. Anyway, I'm excited at the prospect of a new future for this country.

LOL @ people on Facebook getting wound up as Eastenders has been delayed :joker:

Scarlett. 11-05-2010 06:39 PM

lol EE has been delayed? xD

Stacey. 11-05-2010 06:40 PM

i didn't think Eastenders was on tonight, because of this

Jack_ 11-05-2010 06:41 PM

Ah, I'm not sure myself, just people are saying it has been delayed and are annoyed. Silly kids.

This is far more important than some fictitious soap opera.

Sure but many Channels have changed to Live News
And Radio as well.

Scarlett. 11-05-2010 06:42 PM

Indeed it is, it is a historic moment

Spike 11-05-2010 06:43 PM

EastEnders wont be on until Cameron arrives at Number 10. I'd guess maybe 9.30pm unless they put it on before Cameron gets on the move

he only used New Labour yesterday
to make it look good.

Thats why David was so Aware.

Scarlett. 11-05-2010 06:46 PM

Gordon Brown is expected to leave politics altogether

Harry! 11-05-2010 06:46 PM

There is much speculation in Westminster that Nick Clegg will be given the job of deputy prime minister in a Cameron government, BBC political editor Nick Robinson says.

Hope that is true. I knew I wanted this from the start.
