both are good, I have played rugby before many times before. There is more of an intellectual element to American football though.

There is a reason why we wear the helmets...without them alot more people were dying from head injuries or were getting paralyzed. Death from head injuries is a freak occurence now also Paralysis although it's happen about once or twice in the last 4 years or so. (One is walking again after physical rehab, the other guy is still wheelchair bound but is getting the feeling back in his feet)

And it's very common to see a player get a concussion in a game.
I do respect Rugby tho.

American Football is basically Chess Rugby minus the ban on throwing forward if you think about it.
Other than 7 vs 7 Rugby doesn't get a lot of attention when it should IMO.

dont be silly, that intellectual that they high five and do a dance every time they make a tackle, oh yeh and the play stops, when a rugby league player makes a tackle he's gotta get up get onside and be prepered to tackle again.at the end of their sets of play they always do a long punt down field or a kick at the posts, on the last play in rugby league, theirs the option of kicking long downfield for territory, a 40/20 witch enables you to get another set of six tackles, a grubber kick in to the in goal to force a drop out, an up and under to put pressure on the fullback, a drop goal for 1 point or just basically run the ball and go for a try.

i am talking about plays and such. The best QBs for the NFL are genius's. Tom Brady has an IQ of 160. Rugby, you just hit people

Alf 28-10-2012 03:36 PM

hitting people is part of the defence, theirs also an attacking element to the game

Roy Mars III 28-10-2012 03:40 PM

yea, but football is about strategy. you have to be in perfect physical and mental health to play

Alf 28-10-2012 03:47 PM

the semi final to get in to the geand final, bradford are leading but st helens have the ball in their own half with time for one more play, the final hooter sounds as they play the ball, but the play must come to a halt before it's over

sorry for keeping going on about rugby league in your american football thread but it really needs promoting. sadly it as very little promotion in this country,

anyway here's that play

now that's drama

Novo 28-10-2012 03:51 PM

Rugby is much better to watch, just the whole pace of it and the way the players can have half an ear hanging off but still carry on

so is rugby league, so are most sports for that matter, it comes down to promotion of the game, which is why overpaid grown men who roll about on the floor and cheat to get players booked or sent off is the biggest sport in the world, because it gets so much media exposure, i'm talking about football or soccer

Novo 28-10-2012 03:54 PM
