The Imposter - an amazing documentary about a brown haired, brown-eyed French-Algerian man of 23 who assumed the identity of a missing 16 yr old blonde haired, blue-eyed boy from Texas, and was returned back to the family. Amazing viewing.

Oh i think Gav watched that a while back, he was going on about it for ages, is it the one where :

Spoiler:

The family of the real missing person had actually murdered him and that's why they never said this guy wasn't their son?

Spoiler:

That was just the accusation at the end, but there was't any hard proof. It was supposed to be the brother that killed the missing kid, but he died of a drug overdose before he could be questioned, so no one will ever know for sure.

what a weird story though

I know - absolutely insane. I couldn't believe it when I was watching it. You should try and watch it too, and be one of the cool kids like Gav and I.

The Fantastic Four
The Rise of the Silver Surfer
Snow White and the Huntsman

:bored:

I need to regain control of the film viewing decisions in my house I reckon..

Actually Snow White was watchable I suppose.

The Ambassador - Documentary made by Mads Brugger (A Danish journalist/film maker) who tries to set himself up in Liberia as a diplomat, to obtain diplomatic immunity and enable him to show the business side of the blood diamond trade. I thought it was really good, and a definite watch.

The Red Chapel - another Mads Brugger documentary. He contacts North Korea, and gets permission to perfom a show over there with 2 danish/Korean comedians (one of whom has cerebal palsy and calls himself a danish spastic). Another definite watch.

..Repo Men..it's the second time I've watched this movie and still found it very absorbing..quite a thought provoking storyline...8/10...

Jesus. 21-02-2014 12:01 PM

Kumare - a 24 yr old American/Indian (not native American), called Vikram became disillusioned with the Guru industry after trying out different people in India and America, so he set out to show people it was all a load of lies by acting out the role of Kumare, a mystical Guru from India, and taking it to some of the more new-age parts of the states.

It's actually a really lovely film to watch, and isn't mocking or condescending, but really sincere. A definite watch.

Dracula the Prince of Darkness. Yet another - less imaginative - take on the Dracula story. It was okay... Jon Voigt plays Van Helsing. I truly didn't recognise him and was quite surprised when the credits rolled. It was spoiled in part by the whiny, overacting, five foot, 100lb fifteen year old girl in armour, defeating 200lb seasoned warriors. Stupid, but I kind of enjoyed it mainly because I like vampires. 6/10

..Role Models..7/10...

The Bad Seed (1956) First watch

This must of be really scary back in 50's but some-how is still works
today.

Even of the start of the movie, you can tell, she a brat from hell,
thing annoy her fast and think don't go to her plan You better run ,
your be her next Victim.

Loved the movie, I thought some part of the movie drag in place, it
could have been a lot more shorter then was.

The movie start of little slow for first half hour-ish, of movie, soon
picks up again, then there some scenes that drag for bit to long, in
some parts of the movie I was little bored at tines

I really enjoyed the second part of the movie, a lot more going on,

actor really get into the role, mother and Daughter both outstanding.
Liked the way the movie ended

The Wolf of Wall Street - 8/10

Livia 23-02-2014 01:42 AM

Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. Some funny moments, it was poignant and quite sad. But then given the subject material it was hardly going to be anything else. 7/10

The Fifth Element - 9/10

The Brood (1979)

Quote:

I have actually seen this once before, years ago, As it didn't really make impact on me that much, maybe I was to young to understand what happening on the screen,

The movie dose not take to long to getting, I found the movie flow really well from the start to end.

There some great suspense moments before first death of the movie but after that, suspense dies down a bit.

The death were really good, I thought they kind of brutal for the time and I really the last part of the movie.

The last few scenes of the movie was great, the licking baby scenes was gross and nasty and very crazy, loved it, it's was like scene from one your own nightmares,

The acting was great from the whole cast,

8 out of 10

The Great Happiness Space - Another great documentary. It's about the male club hosts in Japan, and the women that use their bars, and pay for the privilege of having male company. It turns out most of the women who use these bars are actually prostitutes, who save the money they earn from being treated like sex objects, and pay for men to treat them like normal women. It'd probably be cheaper for them to develop crack addictions like western prostitutes.

Really compelling viewing though.

I haven't, but I watched that trailer and will definitely give it a go. I'm watching documentaries at the moment though, so if you know any interesting ones to suggest, then that would be perfect.
