They are the 'Police Nationale' which is the civilian police force in France. You are probably thinking 'Gendarmerie' who are military police that we tend to see in airports.

Good news.The French authorities are good with this kind of attack.I saw doc about Charlie Hebdo and they handled the situation very well when they captured those terrorists.

In an ideal world its probably true, but the reality is quite different. The problem being that if ISIS penetrated a western democracy to any level, it would disband the concepts of what democracy is all about. People just wouldn't have the opportunity to voice there opinion as any opposition would be summarily wiped out.
