They are the 'Police Nationale' which is the civilian police force in France. You are probably thinking 'Gendarmerie' who are military police that we tend to see in airports.

I had no Idea 'police' was a French word :)

Good news. The French authorities are good with this kind of attack.I saw doc about Charlie Hebdo and they handled the situation very well when they captured those terrorists.

Crimson Dynamo 19-11-2015 12:08 PM

Most of our words to do with établissement and authority are borrowed from the French! :)

Much has been said about the asymmetry of western grief, which weeps for Paris and shrugs at blasts in Beirut or Baghdad. But that is not the only disparity in the way the east and west reacts in the face of terrorist attacks. When terror strikes the west, it is rare that just tears flow. The blood of those we bomb flows, too.

Like many, I shed tears for Paris. I have lived there and spent much of the weekend grieving with friends who know and love the city. But our grief was interrupted by a declaration of what French president François Hollande called a “pitiless war”. Blood was being demanded.

Hollande said: “Terrorism will not destroy the Republic, because the Republic will destroy it.”

His first statement is correct. Terrorism will not destroy France; Isis’s black flag will never fly over the Assemblée Nationale. As foreign policy expert Stephen M Walt recently argued in Foreign Affairs, Isis neither has an ideology contagious enough to topple stable governments through popular revolution, nor the firepower to spread its ideas through conquest. Isis, in other words, poses no existential threat to the western world.'

Is this true?

In an ideal world its probably true, but the reality is quite different. The problem being that if ISIS penetrated a western democracy to any level, it would disband the concepts of what democracy is all about. People just wouldn't have the opportunity to voice there opinion as any opposition would be summarily wiped out.

I thought exactly the same. It implies some recent form of radicalisation.

Was it her brother that was the main "brains" behind the Paris attacks? What goes on in peoples minds?

No she took Drugs and Sex
and was not as problem

As she was on the Mission of a
Walking Bomb
but the Dog went in first
and she pulled the cord.
And the Dog went to heaven (if there is one)
And she went right Down to Hell

weird, she clearly didn't actually believe much of their ideology then? Was she just a lunatic with a death wish not even pretending to have a cause?

Also, "Mastermind" man is butt ugly and I hate him. The evil bomber woman sounds like a freak for not actually being a believer just a blood-hungry scary bitch???

The most horrific thing is, even though "Mastermind" is dead, more attacks will happen and we will have a new mastermind to find :(

RIP everyone who died in the attacks.
