And now we know these obviously still bear relevancy:

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 13-09-2017 10:24 AM

how tf is ally gonna run for the council thing when she can't even go to the toilet without having a nervous breakdown

Smithy 13-09-2017 06:51 PM

The last 5 minutes were good, but the whole "oh there's no evidence, she's obviously just seeing things" cliché is BEYOND boring now, I really don't see where this story is going to go and think this is going to be another freak show, if not worse than freak show cause at least there was eye candy in that

Cal. 13-09-2017 07:27 PM

'The Changs were renters?'

Lmao

Smithy 13-09-2017 07:28 PM

It feels like it's trying too hard to be funny too, like the Facebook line was just so cringe

Cal. 13-09-2017 07:35 PM

Ugh the bloody restaurant security alarm thing.

Only one of them going to check it out late at night. Why couldn't they have all gone in the bloody car as a family?

I thought this too

like the beyonce reference and when that one girl was like "you've been throwing shade at me"

its so cringey

Oh yeah the shade thing was :umm2: like a 7 year old is going to know what that means

Billie Lourd is coming across as a complete one trick pony too, she's almost playing exactly the same character as in Scream Queens, monotonous delivery and just a constant vacant look on her face

Yeah like when Billy opened the window and was like "hey, lesbians" and and other Billy was like "it's not all about you" to Sarah. AHS has always had some comedy in it but it's never been this much. I also feel like this isnt going to be a good season because it's too much like Roanoke, being in a big house, not sure if what your seeing is real or hallucination, running in and out of the house screaming etc... Idk I thought it was going to be more underground cult type thing.

Smithy 13-09-2017 08:11 PM

Yeah I'm really not seeing the Cult aspect in this, every other season it was obvious from the get go

I watched S5 and S6 in one week lols. Much preferred 6 of the two, might be my favourite of the whole franchise... but I think 7 will be my fave. Ep1 looked super promising imo.

Tom4784 14-09-2017 01:17 AM

It just gets worse and worse, it's like it's written simultaneously by a teenager that's just learned what subtext is but doesn't understand it and an old person desperately trying to stay young and relevant. It is woeful. That shade line alone almost made me switch off.

The new neighbours are painfully transparent attempts to create 'gif-worthy' characters, Kai and Ally continue to be the worst characters that each actor has played thus far (Honestly, Kyle was more interesting than Kai) and there is no story, there's just a flimsy bandwagon-y concept that can't hold one episode, never mind ten.

I'm giving it two more episodes at most.

Tom4784 14-09-2017 01:20 AM

In fairness to Billie Lourd, I think the problem mostly lies with the writers. They probably thought 'Hey! People liked Chanelle No3 in Scream Queens, let's just copy and paste that character and make her all grimdark!'

Samm 14-09-2017 11:39 AM

that episode was bad mess, like people have said the whole "you're just seeing things" *goes to check the alarm at night* cliche is so boring

the only interesting parts are the clowns, where tf is all the "cult" stuff

Samm 14-09-2017 11:41 AM

might re-watch roanoke instead

I assume the story will change in the second half of the season like Roanoke since I don't see a way it can run for 11 episodes. Because isn't Evan meant to be playing cult leaders like Manson etc this season?

Cal. 14-09-2017 12:37 PM

Unless it's like Freak Show and Hotel where they have random ass episodes plonked in the middle to fill up time because there's not enough story like Orphans and Flicker and that's when he plays Manson etc.

I feel like it still has potential, if the 'Cult' premise comes to fruition and we discover who's part of the clown terrorism.

Tom4784 14-09-2017 03:01 PM

The writers just aren't talented enough to tell the story they want to tell.

Exactly. They've always been a tad pretentious in not white achieving what it is they're setting out to do.

And getting lost in those attempts is the ability to tell even basic interesting horror stories and it ruins the show. If they'd stop trying to be clever or topical or boundary pushing which they can't do the show would improve tenfold. They need yo focus on story and character before anything else.

Braden 14-09-2017 03:17 PM

Superfluous, definitely.

I still think this season has got off to a better start than Freakshow and Hotel (didn't watch Roanoke), and potentially the first two (I binged them, so I can't really judge).

Marsh. 14-09-2017 03:18 PM

I actually think hotel and freak show had promising starts and got worse as they went on.
