I’m so proud of her
Looks like she could have a 2nd week at #1 as well (depending on how well LM do after X Factor)

Really hope LG6 can have this level of success now

I think it’ll be pretty close, she’s ahead on iTunes and AM (not sure about Spotify bc I don’t use ha) but LM are discounted (already :skull:) so I figure they’ll get a decent boost after their performance

Either way, the album and shallow are gonna have amazing longevity AND ARUTW & INLA are still holding steady on iTunes too! Queen!

Oh wow STILL #1 on iTunes (with no discount) a 30% lead over #2 UP to #3 on Spotify and UP to #2 on Apple Music

second week at number one should be almost guaranteed at this point!!

Jase. 29-10-2018 12:38 PM

Still iTunes #01 even AFTER Rita performed on Strictly last night and Little Mix performed on the X Factor

Smithy 29-10-2018 05:40 PM

Number 1 in the midweeks too! :clap1:

:clap1: LEGENDS only - Gaga, Bey, Rih and Taylor are the only pop girls to make the list

Quote:

LADY GAGA:
Not that she wasn’t already a star, but when Gaga rocked the red carpet in a feathered pink Valentino Couture confection at 2018 Venice Film Festival, it seemed a celestial being had descended. Whether she scores an Oscar nomination for Bradley Cooper’s remake of “A Star Is Born” — and finds the cinematic longevity that evaded her pop-star role model, Madonna — remains to be seen, but her movie debut reeled in consistently glowing reviews. 2018 saw her complete the “Star Is Born” film and soundtrack, wrap her $95 million-grossing Joanne world tour and lock a residency at the MGM Vegas.

Beastie 30-10-2018 06:25 PM

Hope Gaga is nominated and wins an Oscar for ASIB!

Jase. 30-10-2018 10:16 PM

Ugh that vid of her thanking fans for supporting ASIB is so bloody CUTE!

Jase. 30-10-2018 10:18 PM

She's overtaken Glenn Close and is now fave to win Best Actress at the Oscars

I can't

Smithy 31-10-2018 07:50 AM

I’d SCREAM if she won best actress, but I don’t think she will, I think she get best original song (which itself would be amazing) unless the vote is split between her two nominations and something else ends up winning. Best actress would be incredible but I’m not expecting it at all

Black Dagger 31-10-2018 09:02 AM

Glenn was great in The Wife. I wouldn't be mad.

I haven’t seen, but I won’t be mad if she loses, at least she got nommed, none of this generations pop girls can say the same and only a few of previous ones can too

Shallow is looking likely to hold onto the #1 for the singles for a THIRD week with the album holding at No2 again :clap1:

This after an amazing Guardian article stating that Shallow is by far the defining song of the year

Quote:

Stop 10 people walking down the street with headphones, and at least one of them will be listening to the soundtrack to A Star Is Born. In all likelihood, it will be Shallow, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s No 1 single.

For me, the film brought back the thrill of being a music journalist: the vim, sweat and chaos of being backstage; the extraordinary capacity of live music to lift the self and spirit, build moments of joy, communion and clarity. The simple act of feeling alive.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and The Greatest Showman soundtracks have dominated album sales this year (thanks, one suspects, to children graduating from the Frozen soundtrack). But A Star Is Born is for grownups. As one life fades, another begins. I’ll be listening until, as one friend put it, “I’d heard it so many times I thought I was going to be sick”.
Wow, no lies spotted! :clap1:

Twosugars 05-11-2018 05:24 PM

Always remember us this slay video :flutter:

Also Forbes have announced that ASIB is the highest grossing “no action/no fantasy” romantic drama of ALL TIME!

Quote:

A Star is Born has earned $168 million in North America, surpassing Gone Girl ($166m) as the biggest adult-skewing October release in modern times (sans inflation). Oh, and it also passed the $166m gross of Fifty Shades of Grey, taking its place as essentially the biggest “no action” (Pearl Harbor, Titanic) and “no fantasy” (Ghost) romantic drama of all time in unadjusted domestic earnings. It’s already the biggest non-period piece romantic drama in North American grosses and should pass Pearl Harbor ($198m in 2001) to end up third on the overall list."
She just won’t stop winning!

Smithy 09-11-2018 11:00 PM

Welp! Her house is about to burn down due to the wildfires in Malibu :worry: her/her team/animals have all been evacuated

Jessica. 10-11-2018 01:36 AM

So sad that the fires are kicking our queen out after it took her so many years to finally get a house.
