Thanks for explaining. My messages have slipped through the net. Not that there have been that many. Anyway, it's all clearer now, so thanks to everyone who contributed positively.

No hard feelings, Josy.

Good grief whats this? have a go at the mods day?!?

I think part of the problem with any long-standing forum group is, and this is similar to physical groups, people often get territorial and when a group of people get territorial, it frightens off the new blood. All forums need new blood if they are going to survive and so I'm surprised we don't have a welcoming sticky where people can pop in and introduce themselves.

I've been here a few years now but I still have one member who often reminds me that I'm the new kid on the block and implies therefore that my opinion is irrelevant. When I first started commenting on here I had two people who persistently made me feel unwelcome. Fortunately, I'm a tough cookie so people like that don't bother me but I've seen the same people pick out new members and go in for the kill and I've seen those members make a quick exit never to return. There are some cliquey bullies on here that need harnassing around new members because if they keep frightening away new people, this place will just become an OAP members club!

The biggest problem with getting new members these days I think DR is that BB isn't very popular anymore and that's when we'd normally attract new members every year. Lots of people would join to discuss BB and some would hang around afterwards, that's how I ended up posting here

That's how we all started. Claymores got me to stay.

There are lots of really nice people who only come on for BB. Maybe we should all make a concerted effort to drag them into Non-BB. Gillian, for instance, and Rustic Gal to name but two.

Let's do that then. We really do need some new blood, and if they already know us it'll be easier all round.

Yeah true enough, we could do with a decent series of CBB/BB to get people back posting then too :fc:

Half the people here rarely watch it any more :joker:. I'm sure I joined up after googling something about Daley the year, but then the Helen Wood year was the last civi series I watched. Damn her. Up until that year I literally never missed an episode :/

And the last series I really watched at all was Bear... Over a year ago now is it? Or was it January? I can't even remember, haha.

You never know, maybe Ch5 will lose BB and another channel will make it worth watching again and we'll get a tonne of brand new arseholes to argue with :hehe:

I joined for BB10 because literally no one I spoke to in r/l watched anymore, it was my first experience of Forums in general actually. I can't see C5 doing many more (if any) civi series actually. A new channel would be great, it needs something

I never mod threads in which I'm personally involved. I've always stated this in threads like these, I'm pretty sure I've told you this a fair few times.

Members who make multis when on bans, get their bans extended. This has always been in place.
